University of Louisville campus is (or used to be) infested with albino tree rats - they practically run up your clothes to get eye to eye and demand handouts.

Meanwhile...
How dark is your personality?

Apparently, I am:

Infrequently vile

You are infrequently vile – you mostly put others before yourself, though you may find occasions in which your dark side shines.

So, the first time we went to the mountain, we switched out SD cards in trail cameras. One of them got a video an hour after we left.

So... Yep, there's a nice sized group of them. Hopefully we won't need to get any explosives.

Introduce them to politics, and see if they kill themselves off?

My child is curled up on the floor next to the TROLLCAT laughing and crying.

After reading it through and laughing myself into a coughing fit, he asked me what's so funny. So I read it to him.

I wonder if that bikers squirrel is related to McSquizzy(Oi!")...

That sounds like even more fun than the biker who hit an extremely ripe roadkilled skunk.

Here's my close encounter with a squirrel:

I was working at a summer camp in Ontario (in charge of the horseback riding program). The room I stayed in was on the second floor of the lodge (where the dining room, kitchen, snack shack and food pantry were). One day, there was commotion in the back room of the kitchen. Several of us went to see what was going on. The head maintenance guy was chasing a squirrel in the back room (i.e. pantry), with a hammer! But he kept aiming at the squirrel, so that by the time the hammer hit, the squirrel had had time to move...

At one point, the squirrel started running up the side of the shelves. I aimed at where the squirrel was headed, and caught it... with my bare hand...

For some reason, the squirrel decided it would be a good idea to bite my hand, at that point. As a reflex, my hand squeezed... Perhaps not surprisingly, no one thought to try mouth to snout resuscitation... I threw it outside, against a tree. I forget if we buried it or not. I was taken to the hospital (a half hour away), and since I couldn't remember when my last tetanus shot was, they gave me one just in case...

So yes, you have, among your numbers, someone who is guilty of squirrelicide...

I had a pet squirrel for some years. Found a nestling on the sidewalk after a bad storm and took it in. Mostly, he seemed to think he was a tiny little dog with a real jones for peanuts. He would sit on my shoulder or nestle under my beard.

Anyhow, one time I startled him in his nest, and he bit my finger.

Imagine a pair of vicegrips with chisels for teeth.

The doctor thought it was funny as hell. He could hardly stop laughing to give me the tetanus shot.

So what you're telling us is that your next exciting chapter will include close encounters of the scuridae kind?

We're not there, yet... In fact, we just had another 2 inches of snow, last Friday... (It melted, of course, but still...)

Nice photos.
