Here's my close encounter with a squirrel:
I was working at a summer camp in Ontario (in charge of the horseback riding program). The room I stayed in was on the second floor of the lodge (where the dining room, kitchen, snack shack and food pantry were). One day, there was commotion in the back room of the kitchen. Several of us went to see what was going on. The head maintenance guy was chasing a squirrel in the back room (i.e. pantry),
with a hammer! But he kept aiming
at the squirrel, so that by the time the hammer hit, the squirrel had had time to move...
At one point, the squirrel started running up the side of the shelves. I aimed at where the squirrel was headed, and caught it... with my bare hand...
For some reason, the squirrel decided it would be a good idea to bite my hand, at that point. As a reflex, my hand squeezed... Perhaps not surprisingly, no one thought to try mouth to snout resuscitation... I threw it outside, against a tree. I forget if we buried it or not. I was taken to the hospital (a half hour away), and since I couldn't remember when my last tetanus shot was, they gave me one just in case...
So yes, you have, among your numbers, someone who is guilty of squirrelicide...
