The talisman was geared towards doing one thing - keeping her wings from "popping up". Since her facial markings may have been something completely different - response in anger, not in arousal - they appeared when she was yelling at Grandma Lily.
Of course, it could just be "Pablo forgot", but that'd be too simple an explanation...

Great. Now I'm imagining Nadette imagining Atsali bathing in a giant sized bird bath.oldmanmickey wrote:Yes those wings are a plus size arnt they. I am thinking that a cold shower is gonna be needed and fast.

"Nell" would be a character in an old weekly radio serial or other pot-boiler who is constantly in trouble or being menaced by a villian and needing rescue. Also in Dudley Do-Right, Nell was always harrassed by Snidely Whiplash.Gyrrakavian wrote:Nell? Who is Nell?Opus the Poet wrote:I wonder if Atsali is in "trouble" here. She has shown she is capable of expressing attraction to other girls, with Berdette, but at this point e don't know how serious that was as there was nothing real about it for B. And what about the boy she just made a date with? And what about little Nell? For answers to these and other questions come back tomorrow for another episode of Wapsi Square

Well... Atsali is picking up on A signal, just not the one she was looking for... and they will not figure out the mystery anytime soon if they commence to either arguing over emotions or just start snogging... maybe they will explore other mysteries instead. Nadette seems pleased with her reaction...

(insert appropriate segue here) I have always kept my wallet in my front pants pocket, and for some reason I am reminded of a time when I was carpooling to school (40 years ago for those that care). There wasn't enough room in the car for everyone, so a rather attractive young lady had to sit on my lap. As she wiggled into the car and tried to get comfortable she asked me in a rather annoyed tone if I would please move my hand. I said "That's not my hand", intending to assure her that was not groping her butt. She assumed it was some other part of my anatomy and her resulting embarrassment was so amusing I just couldn't tell her it was only my wallet. . . . that, and the more she tried not to sit on my wallet the better the lap dance got. . .Sphinx-Napped wrote:Wiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnnnng bonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnneerrrr!

Where are we going and why am I in this handbasket?
Re: Trust Us 2015-01-14
Obviously Sali took the talisman off. After taking that fall she would know that wings were better than talisman at this time. So when she took things off because it is hot where they are, she took the other item as well.
Sali is also making a big assumption that the library trusts her. The library has not shown a lot of trust for anyone and it just does what it does for its own reasons. I suspect the library, or MIB, let her translate to wherever they are. They are not in the original location or they would already be beginning to glow in the dark. So they are someplace else. There was no VORP, so the transporter system did not kick in. If they came through a portal they have to be in the library, or an affiliated area. I kinda doubt the library portals would cross connect so the intake became an outtake.
Now we just have to wait and see where they really are.

Ambush questions are fun. Watching the mental impact of them as they distort, or crumble, opinions based on faulty logic.

The "Nell" from which the trope is originally derived, is probably "Little Nell" Trent, the heroine in the Dickens serial The Old Curiosity Shop. Nell Fenwick from Dudley Doright was almost certainly an homage to the trope.Hansontoons wrote:"Nell" would be a character in an old weekly radio serial or other pot-boiler who is constantly in trouble or being menaced by a villian and needing rescue. If I recall correctly, one of little Nell's quirks (in an otherwise angelically sweet and perfect nature) was that she insisted that her suitors always present their courting gifts to her in a hand-basket.

Or Nadette broke the Talisman with her nose when they landed. She didn't enjoy it when it happened, but she is now.jwhouk wrote:I suspect that when Nadette went in for that hug, she removed the Talisman from Atsali's neck.

Lately every time I see Atsali I think, "Now there's a nice young lady who'd I'd be proud to be the father of. I'm not too happy about her kooky friends, however..."
Is it weird to find her mother to be far more attractive?
I'm weird, aren't I?
I'm getting too old.

When they entered The Library, they entered L-space. My understanding is that L-space can fold and connect just about anywhere to anywhere. I don't find it hard at all to believe that The Library had them step through a door in Minneapolis and fall to the floor somewhere near Mapimi.zachariah wrote:They are not in the original location or they would already be beginning to glow in the dark.
