Called it....

Part of my post from Nov 4th:

"I'm not entirely sure how this is going to play out... The thought has crossed my mind of Castela "ZOT"ing bad guys... or trying to and blowing parts of the library Q room to smithereens and still not hitting anything she's seeing..."
You know that light at the end of the tunnel?

Yeah... it's a bullet. Sorry.

Well, she's out of the Q room.

At least out of the simulation. Might still be in the room itself, but the show is over.

...yep, that's about what I thought her reaction would be.

Sorta depends. I'm not certain whether the strip's title "Fallout" is purely metaphorical, or whether Castela in her anguish is now blasting away with plasma charged with shattered atoms that will be depositing radioactive debris all over the floor, Phix's best Turkish rugs, and assorted Library patrons.

Doesn't have to be radioactive to be considered fallout.

I think we're both wrong - looking again, she's in the Q room and it appears to have finished THAT simulation.

Is she going to get some of the thirteen or so years between what we/she just saw and when Atsali meets Katherine?

No, because most of that time was spent with Atsali at the orphanage.

All this, and they haven't even gotten to the point where she learns the truth about her parents yet.

But that's not what she was looking for, this time around. All she wanted to know was why Atsali had such fierce separation anxiety. She certainly knows that, now.

Of course, having now seen that she was involved with the events at the time, she may now start looking for some of her own answers. That may not be pretty, either...

Not really - she's believed to be about five when we meet her the first time, which means at least eight years of it not together.
