Done!
Here's another one for it, with 5 banjo players, including Steve Martin (yes, the actor), and Earl Scruggs (who was featured on the previously linked video), playing live on the Dave Letterman show.

Actually I would think List's Hungarian rhapsody #2 would be better. Or is it number 5? There have been some great cartoons to that one.

For instance: Rhapsody Rabbit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=scjBYNxDCDA

ps: the shadows in the other room?

Tsillah know that no-one was there before they arrived, but I doubt she would know if anyone else arrived at the same time or just after our three got there.

My guess is the 'shadows' is the rest of their team. Maybe Grandma Lily & (Aunt?) Suzie?

Of course, if they are running away *from* friends/allies, I wonder what they are running *to* ... dun dun DUN!
She knew that no one "alive" was there. . . .so, dead people?
I totally get why Nadette would be scared of dead people. . .might be disgruntled "prior client" of the seer wishing to pick a bone (tosses a meaty bone into the pun jar)

Atsali ain't scared of no ghosts in this place...oods are it will be somebody she knows at the "mind meld" level (adds a Star Trek keychain to the pun jar)

But why oh why is the shadow afraid? Other than Atsali, what can hurt a shadow? (Unless she is just playing with them . . . which is something that little girl would do)

That was the very first cartoon ever shown on Cartoon Network.

"Foggy Mountain Breakdown", huh?

From 1972.

I'm thinking maybe something is called for, musically, that's a bit weightier and more ominous than fiddles and banjos can usually pull off.

You've got three teenage mentalities dealing with the unknown, POSSIBLY a collective IQ of 250, no better organization than a fart in a wind tunnel... I think THAT selection of background music would only work if the lead chorus included Elmer Fudd, Sylvester the Cat, Porky Pig and Speedy Gonzales...
Mind you, I agree- it IS an impressive piece... but using it here reduces it to farce.

What, you're figuring Tsillah for a maximum IQ of around 42?

I think you're giving Tsillah too much credit.

Well, if she's got less and i accept the "combined IG of 250" then that means both of the other two have to be smarter than the average ... uhhh ... lemme rephrase that...

Tsillah, in the first panel? I'm digg'n her expression.

I know we get hung up on (only as an example) elbow patches dissapering and everything, but Mr. Taylor has certainly evolved his craft over the years.

Here is a Random Button (of Doooooom!, hHAHAHAHAhahahahahah.... cough, cough) strip from 2002...

Oh, look- scary dark place...

I think this works better as chase music than the original opera. BTW the "Mozart" in the title is the name of the DJ that did the remix, not any reference to Amadeus or any other member of the extended family.

For this scene alone, you have a point.

I was really thinking more about the ultimate nature of the situation these three are heading into.... not just about this one strip. If what they're facing has got anything to do with the Ethetians (and it almost has to) then there's horror, mass insanity, genocide-level death and other such pleasantries hovering around.

I just have a feeling that we may encounter one of Pablo's trademark bootlegger turns, that things may turn from teen farce to deadly serious, and that Fate and Fortune may have their say in what occurs in the days to come.

I am estimating Nadette at 125, Atsali at 120 and Tsillah at 25... and I think I am being generous all around. As I recall, after Amanda leaves Monica in the dark Monica starts talking to herself how in the movies the stupid 'next victim' goes exploring alone and gets killed... then does exactly the thing she decries as stupid.
Yes, Paul's work has evolved- TRIVIA- when did Paul FIRST draw hands with all digits? And... WHO was the lucky recipient?

It might not have ever occurred
to all that old strips were absurd
-when their anger they vented
they were still prevented
from properly flipping the bird

... deposits summer sausage and swiss cheese piroshkies in confusion corner with a Californian Cabernet Sauvignon of decent vintage. BTW, SWMBO (she who must be obeyed) has heard this entry and officially declares me "nuts"... she ALMOST sounds as if she is complaining... she has known this for nine years now...

THAT might well be the case- we shall have to wait and see.... OH!!! The scene where they destroy the calendar machine!!! It would play well there, especially when Shelly stabs Monica's head!

On the other hand, perhaps the situation is more like this!

As it happens, forumite KnightDelight used that very scene in a most impressive video he edited together. Though I don't recall "O Fortuna" listed in the musical credits.
