A cop in Plano Texas slipped a hundred dollar bill into the citation he was writing for an expired license plate when the driver told him he simply couldn't afford the renewal.
The officer wants to remain anonymous.
(I thought you were supposed to slip the cop a hundred with your license to not get the ticket...)

Seems that in spite of the current economic disaster here some people are determined to be more visibly philanthropic lately. First a cop getting a street person boots and now this. I wonder what kind of stories the media has not bothered with this year.Fairportfan wrote:A cop in Plano Texas slipped a hundred dollar bill into the citation he was writing for an expired license plate when the driver told him he simply couldn't afford the renewal.

Here in the Murder Capital of Canada*, a transit driver - while on the job, driving a city bus - recently gave the shoes on his feet to a guy who was walking down the street barefoot.

What city is that, by the way? I don't recall seeing that in the news - then again, I don't listen to the news all that much, anyway... A quick search suggests Winnipeg, Thunder Bay, Edmonton, Abbotsford...

I would dispute that, jwhouk, if it were any less accurate.

I love Dr. Strangelove.
EDIT: Gah! This is what I get for navigating away from a slowly-loading page to keep browsing...I post the wrong comment in the wrong thread. I meant to say here that "At least it's nicce to see that Texas shows up in the news for good stuff from time to time."

Ah. Don't worry, we won't hold your current geographical location against you... (Unless it becomes necessary to do so... please don't make it necessary to do so...)MerchManDan wrote:I would dispute that, jwhouk, if it were any less accurate.
