Cool find, FP. I visit Retronaut from time to time, but never came across the Paris photos before. (I wouldn't have thought the famous Moulin Rouge would look so...shabby...in the daylight)
The sound wave thing is too cool...

Places designed to be appreciated at night often do, with the lights and music off, under daylight or ordinary work lights.

Yeah, 6th Street in Austin, by night, is a wonderland of music, food smells, and joyous crowds. In the daylight, it's just another rather dreary looking city street...

It's a BMW "Mini" ... i'd be embarrassed to be involved with it even if it wasn't painted like that.

True dat!
I remember the original Mini quite clearly.
My Dad had an MG 1100 Sedan, the Mini's big brother.
Which i'm pretty sure was still smaller than what BMW calls a "Mini".

But I LOVE the backstage stuff. Back when special effects houses weren't cube farms, I'd have swept the floors to work in one...
(one of the things that sold me on DVD's were all the extras...commentary tracks and little documentaries and stuff)
