And it looks as if the goth twin who despises idol groups is going to wind up in the group ... while her sister may or may not.

Looks to me like Tata Phix has got complaints again from MIB.

Oh, joy.... wherever shall they go?

Avacado gernades, anyone?
And if she can get somebody to bless them for her, then she could end up with holy guacamole hand grenades. Just the thing for ridding one's self of pesky rabbits or for annoying bibliophilic sphinxes.

I wonder if the current Patriarch of Antioch is available for the job?

Lets not forget, Avocado, while highly damp, is also high in fat content. Well, for a plant...

Nah. Whatever Shelly and Connie did was done in the Library...

The sheer volume of materials requested makes it likely that the target is a large creature.

Phix is a large creature. The only other similarly-large creatures among the regular cast, as far as I can remember, are Shelly and Atsali. Shelly is the prankster; Atsali is of a different generation, an emotionally-sensitive age, and not directly in Shelly's circle of friends. (Their circles do overlap.)

Brandi. The ursamorphs. Tsillah. At least some of the demons, if they feel so inclined.

But yeah, I think that Phix just got pranked.

Considering that Shelly made a point of the fact that she was about to go after somebody who was known to be capable of handling Shelly-craziness... Phix is certainly the most likely candidate.

Shelly might have pranked Nudge, but if that had happened I sorta doubt that Nudge would have run crying to Phix about it. She'd have taken it in good humor, gone back to her life... and taken elaborate revenge at a later time, after Shelly thought that she'd gotten away with it. I suspect Nudge has some inventive ideas about Sphinx-wedgies and that sort of thing.

I don't know . . . "a mark that is more than up to the level of my mischief" fits Nudge better than Phix . . .

It could be that Nudge is plotting revenge, and Phix is upset about the collateral damage or unintended consequences.

Yeah, that's a little to much exertion and too long . . .

Unless they were eating loudly in the library.

It could be a reprise of the Acheron incident, only with The Guacamole From Hell(tm) . . . But they'd have had to found The Devil's Avocado(tm) first.

Maybe Shelly was aiming at Nudge, and missed. Librarians have been known to be thoroughly furious about mayonnaise stains on the reference books.

You surprise me, FreeFlier... I thought you would have provided a link to the Devil's Avocado......

As well as, of course, a link to the recipe...

It was late, I was tired, and once I started diving through the archives, I would have finished this morning.

Probably about the time to leave for work.

To be honest, I got lucky: I hit the Archives button, and right there, in the dropdown list, the story arc itself was called "Devil's Avocado"...
