Yup. We'll be out here, battered by suppositions, hanging by our fingernails over a chasm of speculation, our bodies and minds whipped back and forth by bootlegger turns of mood and setting. We'll be peppered with shrapnel from events fired by high-calibre Chekhov's Guns that he managed to smuggle past our most vigilant guards. Just when we think we can relax, we'll be pounced upon by sharply-fanged revelations from past plot lines, risen from what we assumed was safe burial in the dust of history and "retired" charactership. We'll hover, sleeplessly, over the "Refresh" buttons on our browsers, hoping that the new strip will arrive before we pass out from fatigue.

We'll be risking our livelihoods, health, and sanity every moment of every day, for as long as he continues to write.

And... loving it.

Fiddlesticks seems like a fine place to have a branch of Confusion Corner. Their tasties look as if they might even rival those available at Mucho Mocha.

Once again, I forget... What were the five winged beings?

Also, five wings would make it hard to fly.

We don't really know. It was a one-time mention by Tina - almost certainly very significant, but we have no further information.

Start here and read the next two strips...

I'd forgotten that one . . .

I suspect that Atsali might be another of the five.

I'd almost guaranty that Atsali s One of the Five Winged 'beings.

Lets count;

- Tina, as White/Black Wing

- Sphinx-ly revealed Shelly.

Who else has Wings?

Well, see, not everyone uses a hyphen when they should, and I thought this was one of those situations where it was required.

Could you imagine something with five wings trying to fly, though?

Lily has been shown to possess black bat wings. Only happened once, during the first Mampimi (or whatever) thing. It was when Suzie and Lily were having a that big fight. Lily shot Susie right in the sternum, then I think Suzie shot Lilly from behind in the knees?

I don't remember the exact sequence of events, but I know Lily had black bat wings.

Why, yes, I have put some thought into this friggin "Five winged beings" thing. Y'know how your brain freaks out when you hear only one side of a conversation (like listening to only one end of a telephone call)? My brain did this HARD when I was only allowed to read a tiny part of a prophesy.

Totally went into overdrive trying to figure it out. It still bugs me sometimes when I'm trying to go to sleep.

It's been done, but not as an ornothropter- The Italians built several five winged aircraft before WWI.

I just had a look, and I don't find that . . . several times that her hair or coat looked sort of like wings, and the succubus had wings, but not Lily.

Yep, those sure look like wings to me... and right in the sequence mentioned by Glytch (the shooting match takes place on the subsequent two comics).

Based on the quotations, I'm going to have to check out a copy of that book from the library for a good read.

Here Here! (Or is it Hear Hear?) If it is half as informative as it looks I might buy it as a reference book.
I'm especially intrigued by the hints at how to use colons and semicolons.

Hopefully Castela manages to keep that power under control now, or things could get really unpleasant.

"High five!"

*ZAP*

". . .Oops."
Alkarii wrote:Wow, I totally misunderstood that... I thought that phrase mean beings who had five wings...
Perhaps five five-winged beings!
Alkarii wrote:Could you imagine something with five wings trying to fly, though?
I've seen plenty of four-winged critters flying around. I'm sure five could be managed. Perhaps the fifth would be used for manoeuvring rather than lift.
Sgt. Howard wrote:It's been done, but not as an ornothropter- The Italians built several five winged aircraft before WWI.
I recall one that had something like two dozen wings. It. . .was less than a total success.
