Aw. Poor lonely Katherine.

==========

Someone else needs to link this one - it's too much trouble from the tablet. {My computer is four hubdred miles away.}

So that's why her teeth are so small!

Is that and the iris thing something we already knew?

To be young and different... is so often to be alone and lonely.

We've been speculating about the connection between her unusual eyes (no visible sclera) and her sextuple heritage ever since we learned about her origin. I think this is the first time Paul has sorta confirmed the connection as canon.

I don't recall any earlier discussions about her teeth, either in strip or in the comments or forum discussions.

Up till the massacre at the Dead Sea Dig, Katherine seems to have been a more-or-less young woman.

I don't think we have her life chronology pat, but i figure her time in the Air Force must have been before she was working on her PhD.

I have one baby tooth still . . . and 29 adult teeth.

Now having all 28 baby teeth is somewhat unusual . . .

I'm happy her eyes finally make sense now. What was up with them has been something I've been wondering about since I first found Wapsi Square years ago.

I point out again - as i have before - that there are always three reflection points in each of Katherine's eyes.

In other words, six.

One for each soul?

Nope. Her multi-iris peepers are present at the dig site.

Taken symbolically... yes, it makes good sense. Taken literally it might suggest that the Lanthians were cyclopses, which isn't something we have other evidence for. :?

Also, am I the only one who never realized Castela's eyes are basically bent over flower looking things and the blackness is nothing? I guess I never really payed attention to her so much before.

I recall a scene where Kath is looking through a magnifying glass and the magnified eye is a single pupil, a single iris, and juuuust a sliver of white around it.

I actually linked to it on one of these daily discussions somewhere kinda recent.

I took that to mean she just had big irises and/or pupils. Not three irises and pupils in each eye.

...I don't recall ever thinking they were anything but eyestalks in empty sockets. You might have misinterpreted negative and positive space in the drawing.

So, does Katherine have her adult teeth all formed and waiting somewhere in her jaws but just not starting to push through, or did they never form at all?

And is there some fae who goes around collecting the teeth that fall out in the Wapsi universe? If so, might Cricket or Queen Foxglove know of Katherine's tooth condition?

The baby teeth thing is new. Her adult teeth never came in? They came in and she's got a mouth like a shark's, with separate rows of teeth inside? Her dentist pulls out his hair when she comes in for a checkup?

I don't remember jack about Kath's six-part heritage. Like, nothing at all. All I remember about her is that prehistoric art showing a prophecy of a "spider lady" or something.

Could I get a link or explanation?
