There wasn't a pun there... at least not any I had intended. Just a reference to an overused trope that I'm sure we'd rather Paul avoided.
(I won't post the TvTropes link for fear of accidentally sending somebody down a rathole... but I'm sure you can find it for yourself if you are curious and have a spare week or two to waste)

Gee-zus people, get a friggin grip! To see your posts one would think I set fire to Paul's house in protest, when all I did was express my opinion. That's it. MY opinion. I did not say it was fact. Nor did I once say I hated the strip now or threatened to stop reading the comic if it continued like some have done. I simply expressed my view as to why it was happening. Not once did I say it was a bad thing. I just said what I thought it was. Nothing more. I said Paul was going for ratings and I stated what two things are usually used to get them. That's it. I did not chide him for so doing. After those 4 (count 'em, four) sentences, I ruminated on how ineffective the guards in movies and comics usually are and how they seem to come out of nowhere, over and over just to be killed off. It was mostly just general observations on how this sort of thing goes, pointing out a couple of examples here of those things. Basically making predictions on what will happen next in this arc just like people have done in here hundreds of times. Trying to divine what will next occur based on what is happening in the current strip. Most times we are wrong, but that doesn't stop us from trying.
Did I say it to elicit comments? Yes. Just like pretty much ALL of the posts in here. People say something and come back to see what others have to say on whatever they posted. Then they post responses if they so feel inclined. If you want to take my comments as negative, fine. That's your OPINION on them as well. And, just like the opinions I expressed, that does not make them correct. Do some of you need to be so rabid that the slightest thing posted which might be inferred as negative or criticisms of Paul's work must have such an over the top reaction? I guess some people are always looking for an excuse to be incensed or have their sensibilities hurt and can't wait to lash out. That's how it goes. Reasonable people at least try to find out more before going ballistic about someone's post. Try to get a fuller explanation first. Not launch into knee jerk reactions right off. But then, from what I've seen, it seems to be "the usual suspects" who do that in here.
If I were a troll, I would not even bothered to give a measured response to the comments about my post in here. I would not have responded at all or I would have called some of you names, fighting flames with flames. Some people drop the term troll a bit too freely.
As to the sex thing. No, he has not been showing outright sex, but many of his strips have been laced with sexual overtones. How could anyone have missed that? Both in the strip and pinups. Atsali does not have huge breasts because it makes the strip more intellectually interesting. She has them because big boobs sell posters and original strips. Not to mention can make for some funny situations, as well as heighten the sexual aspects. Like the mid-air boob collision recently. Humorous. And that's fine. He draws what sells and gives us a laugh. Great. More power to him and his.

I had intended, a few days ago, to say:Sgt. Howard wrote:Kevin? Amnesia? after getting Lecouisa Pregnant?... Dave, do they make an Amnesia that strong?
"Yep, I'll bet Kev's eyes rolled up into the back of his head and he was gaga-googoo for quite some time..."

I'm lost: Dave already said there was no pun intended, so how could anything help me find a pun that isn't there?

Ah, but the blank space where there was no pun could have had a pun in it. And since it wasn't narrowed down by being committed to any one particular pun, it contained an infinite pun potential. In essence, therefore, that post contained every conceivable pun in potentiality.lake_wrangler wrote:]Buh?

Ah, so you're talking about a quantum-mechanical field of virtual puns! Puns and anti-puns, appearing in pairs and then disappearing again, flickering into existence for so short a time that the reader never has time to perceive the horrors lurking just beneath the surface of the continuum.Catawampus wrote:Ah, but the blank space where there was no pun could have had a pun in it. That's simply brilliant!
I must find a way to harvest this punnish form of vacuum energy. Hey, Glytch, have you got anything which can extract these puns from the field... a sort of linguistic Hawking radiation?
