Jessie is using reverse psychology.

Good to know you got a good wing girl even if you dont know it at the time. Anyone want to bet this was orchestrated by the stinkweed?

Sometimes the best way to get someone to do something is to tell them not to do it.Dave wrote:"Practical Psychology", chapter 7, section J: "The Contrarian Principle as it applies to motivation in adolescents."AmriloJim wrote:Watch as Nadette gets played like a second-hand fiddle.

Which one, Jessie or Castela?
This sounds like the start of every single version of "Bring It On" and its subsequent imitators...

Yeah, Jessie is definitely savvy. She knows the power of love, loyalty, and "Hey, don't you dare diss my SO... only I can do that!"

In the Tuna Girl's case, I think it might be "Diverse Psychology" Either way, it worked!!!Opus the Poet wrote:Jessie is using reverse psychology.

Let's just hope that the pendulum doesn't swing too far and Nadette get carried away trying to be supportive.

DAAAANG, she's good. Especially since she noticed Nad's hesitation and jumped in immediately with an effective manipulation. This is DEFINITELY a girl you want on your side.

That toothy grin of hers says you definitely don't want to be on her bad side!eee wrote:DAAAANG, she's good. Especially since she noticed Nad's hesitation and jumped in immediately with an effective manipulation. This is DEFINITELY a girl you want on your side.

Looks like Jessie's got Atsali's back.......whether Atsali knows it or not.
Now there's a friend.

Not sure I would want a vindictive tuna "prior" queen bee for a friend, if I was the current ruling queen.TheDOCTOR wrote:Looks like Jessie's got Atsali's back.......whether Atsali knows it or not.Now there's a friend.
But as my old Godfather used to say, "Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer"
I don't see what could possibly go wrong with this plan. . .yet deep down I know, I say, I just know that they got on the fail bus headed for fail town.

Where are we going and why am I in this handbasket?

Vindictive? Where have we seen that?meisdadoo wrote:Not sure I would want a vindictive tuna "prior" queen bee for a friend, if I was the current ruling queen.TheDOCTOR wrote:Looks like Jessie's got Atsali's back.......whether Atsali knows it or not.Now there's a friend.
We've seen some good evidence that Jessie was quite satisfied to be rid of her role as the "Queen bee" of the school... the impression I got is that she'd probably been pressured into it by her social-climber mother. She ripped her mother a new one for having prudishly body-shamed Atsali (something that Atsali didn't find out about until Bud told her).
I get the feeling that Jessie's feelings about being a stereotypical Mermaid (stuck-up, catty social climbers) are a lot like Atsali's feelings about being a stereotypical Siren (sexual predators). Both of them would rather transcend their species's reputations.
