While Euryale and Stheno are talking to/past each other, Castela is off into non-sequitur land, with her own line of interest/inquiry... :D

Oh! Tricky question to answer. I just hope the answer isn't music played on the aulos (those awful double reeds).

Not so sure it's entirely a non sequitur. A person's taste in music can sometimes tell you a lot about the sort of person they are (or were).

it also serves the purpose of bringing attention back to her and deflecting their attention from each other. notice the smiles and the little angel, less so when arguing with each other. shes trying to keep things peaceful.

If she did that on purpose, then she truly is wise beyond her years!

Of course she is! :) How couldn't she? Castela has to be the most adorable kid I know at the moment. :)

Someone call Sarge, because I think I'm seeing a Chekov's Gun here...

Quite right- a heavy-caliber Long-Recoil cute-o-matic with deep penetration, particularly in crusty, jaded souls. Known to penetrate curmudgeons regardless of cynicism levels and can obliterate frowns at remarkable distances. Totally automatic, never runs out of ammo, requires no registration, legal in all 50 states and annoying as hell, especially a sibling. Targeting is always spot-on.
WARNING: KNOWN TO CAUSE GIGGLES AND LAUGHTER!!!

I just realized who Stheno reminds me of, an adult Wednesday Adams.

I don't know about all that, I just think 'Lil Pickle' is just the cutest thing..........Maybe she releases a "Sweetness Scent" that makes everyone want to stay with her forever, like The LOTUS EATERS in Homer's Odyssey.

I think she doesn't know what she's doing . . . which still doesn't detract from the wisdom.
