I'm a bit confused about the mechanics of this. Normally when you have a trap like this, there's a heavy weight or a bent tree or spring under heavy tension to provide the motive power. Here, we have what appears to have been a noose Atsali stepped in, that moved upward with enough force to yank her off her feet and leave her hanging in mid-air. So what did Pickle hook that noose to?

I suspect it's a TV show and I really should relax.

Atsali's ankle is going to HURT after this. :(

As soon as I read yesterday's comic, my first thought was "Hijinx and Hillarity in 3...2...1..."

That's where the "survival" and "evasion" parts come into play.

From what we've seen, their apartments seem to be very "industrial" in interior design: lots of bricks, concrete, exposed beams, and the like. It wouldn't be unlikely for there to be exposed girders or something overhead, that a rope and counterweight could be slung over.

Good thing that she's lighter weight than she appears.

You have to wonder if Atsali has a busted nose now... I imagine those things gave her quite the smack in the face!

Considering her build, just how fast do you think Atsali spun around her center of gravity?

She can be a tad distracting, though. They might not be paying attention to what she's actually pointing at.

Depends on how heavy the counterweight is. Though, it would seem that she narrowly missed klonking her head on the stairs. Or Pickle took that risk into account and set the trap up to avoid it.
