Pity about Shelly's swimsuit, though. Shredded, and useful only as cleaning rags now.

Actually, given the number of non-casualties we are witnessing here, most high power paranormals must be immune. Which would be the reason that gorgons aren't apex predators instead of Sphinxes. Not sure in Jin is immune anymore, and it is probably best not to experiment.

But things could get interesting if Kathryn and the kids show up and get drunk gorgon hugs with flash freezes included.

Why am I getting a very weird "something isn't right here" vibe about all this?

EDIT: And I'm also wondering if Gorgon ice stares are immobilized if they're intoxicated. (If you can't focus enough to stare, you can't use you powers.)

Well, alcohol has a low freezing point so there may be an antifreeze effect going on.

If high powered paranormals are not affected then why was Monica affected? She is a high powered paranormal. Either the ethanol content in the snakes inhibits the ability to get others stoned, or the ability can be turned off by Euri and she did so before starting to drink.

OR, more likely it's that right now she isn't in a state of emotional shock, or surprise, like she was every time she froze Monica... right now she's at that "friendly-drunk" stage and is obviously not wanting to freeze anybody, so she doesn't... if that makes sense?.

Or she's employing the Ursa twins' solution and skinnydipping without seeming to.

Or she's poiting out of the suit before or while changing. Which would be a simple, elegant solution requiring no abilities she hasn't already shown, and hence gets my vote.

Could be that Euryale, like the rest of the characters, has been growing up a bit and is getting better at controlling herself. It'd be nice to have some in-world banter to confirm that, if so.

(Maybe she's just figured out that she doesn't need to freeze people to steal kisses?)
