Georgia in the Spring

Post by Fairportfan »

Some random pics i took today.

(Got a couple of others - particularly a big bank of wisteria - that i have to go back and re-shoot when i'll have the sun at my back so they won't be washed out.)

Okay. This one

Image

is reduced to 800 pixels wide from a stitched image 18,000 pixels wide. You can't see much detail, can you?

Okay, here's a portion, reduced to only 800 pixels wide:

...and you can click here to see that at 2000 px

 Ooh, pretty! I'd post pics of my own hometown, but in this particularly chilly mid-April, Winnipeg doesn't have a lot of scenery to recommend it. :|

Aaaaaah...

Aaaaaaaah...

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaachooooooooooo!

I dislike all seasons that involve releasing pollen, ragweed, and the like.

I have been sneezing, crying, coughing, and blowing my nose since it first thawed.

I am medicated up to my eyeballs, and then I visited my friend who has a real fluffy cat that LOVES to try and snuggle up to me.

Waaaachoo! I'm gonna go hide under my blankets now.

BTW, pretty pictures.
Yanno how some people have Angels/Devils for a conscience? I have a Dark Elf ShadowKnight and a Half Elf Ranger for mine. The really bad part is when they agree on something.

Aphyon chu kissa whol l'jaed.

Reminds me of going to school in east Texas...though your pictures are missing the Indian Paintbrush and Bluebonnets I also associate with springtime. :)

Lovely photos!

Bless you!

Yeah, it's a bad year for it here in California, too. I feel like hell this week... all the symptoms you mention plus overall malaise and body ache. And, I hate how antihistamines make me feel. :(

Had several weeks of relief while visiting Jordan and Israel recently... although plants are blooming in spring over there (especially in the Golan) they're different species and I'm not sensitive to their pollen (yet). Back here, one day of exposure and everything clogged up again :(

Spring has arrived in Alabama. My silver Honda is more of a greenish yellow at the moment.

It hasn't been quite as bad as usual here in North Georgia.

So far.

From once upon a time in Louisiana: I was leaving the grocery store on a warm night and appreciating the effects of tree pollen on automobiles illuminated by parking lot arc lamps. As I pushed my cart along, I overheard the teenage couple behind me with their cart appreciate the iridescent pale green glow coming from their formerly black vehicle. "Jeez, man! The trees splooged all over my car!"

I hear ya! My wife's reaction was "Oh yuck!".

With all the wind we've been having around here this week, I'm dreading the need to get out the snowshovel and go deal with the pollen drifts. WAZOO! :(
