O...kay. We have now passed the point of 'clueless' and are into 'living in a different universe than the rest of us'. Castela's closest friends just told Hiroshi "Dude, she's hot for you". Even the most oblivious, inexperienced male adolescent wouldn't be able to overlook that. And Castela's own behavior confirms it. Heck, his OWN behavior confirms he's crushing on her. For him to make denials about the former, especially, but also the latter suggests
A) He's lying to cover his confusion and uncertainty;
B) As a cross species hybrid like Atsali, his perceptions and understand of humans and even himself is, like hers, way different from normally wired human beings; or
C) He's under a curse. Maybe the Fae girl gave him a twofer: Butterfly, AND emotionally and socially blind. The latter would be a really serious curse, but one people might not notice for a long time.
I don't think beating him with a clueby4 will work, in this case. I think this is going to take work.
