Yeah... this is a side of Atsali she's never seen... and I think it scares her. Castela is getting really good at doing human... cute as a button too...

EDIT: Whoops... the underline link didn't show when I first opened the thread...
You know that light at the end of the tunnel?

And how does Castela know about the school's situational eligibility policies?

I think you may be mishearing/reading what Nadette means.

Predator types aren't allowed to play sports like this because they have more violent instincts that even if not part of their everyday self, can assert themselves in violent sports such as this. Thus how Atsali is pummeling all those other players.

It's not fear of Atsali, it's fear for her. If she accidentally hurt someone else, Atsali has enough issues with her parentage as is without that happening.

I think the school isn't as concerned about lure/ambush predators in violent sports. This isn't the way sirens operate. They are closer to snapping turtles and anglerfish in terms of predatory behavior. I can't really think of a sport that translates well to that sort of predation modus operandi.

A Sphinx, however, would go bonkers in a sport like this or football or rugby, I think. Or martial arts. Bloodlust, y'know?

I don't think the way said predator operates maters much. They're still predators.

I'm pretty sure if you rile up a Siren and a Sphinx in the same way they'll both lash out.

Let us not forget shes also half succubi and the two seem to combine at times to create warbird. Crossbreeds are quite often larger and stronger and etc etc than either parent. I would class either of the parents as fairly low on the predator totem pole but Stali in warbird form i would place in the upper area.

As to how Castela knows so much about the rules and such i expect she learned them when she was told she could not play pretty much any sport due to her abilities which at full grown will probably rival a Titan. Kills a fae warrior as a preschooler yea let keep her in the stands.

Oh, they're actually in a match, not just practice. I thought Atsali was being hard on her teammates; instead, it's the other team she's beating up on.

I'd actually like to see a Gryphon play tennis. Even in human form. THAT would be aggressive play!

And Castela gets her consciousness raised about her big sister's ancestors.

Everything will be OK as long as Atsali can stay calm.

Probably just knows because those are school rules and Castela is good at picking up information.

As for the fae, they are specifically weak against her, rather than her being a combat beast. Though that would still cause issues if fae are in a combative sport with her.

I am reminded of an incident my stepdaughter had at the age of about 22 if memory serves. She went to a birthday party and there just happened to be a pinata, but the person buying the party supplies forgot the stick (remembered the beer, chips, dip and on the spur of the moment, a pinata). My dear sweet daughter offered to let them use her Bokken (wooden practice Katana). They agreed, but insisted that she go last, just to be fair to the others.

Naturally, everyone missed the pinata and eventually it was my daughters turn. They double blindfolded her, spun her around way more than they should have, and she focused listening for the sound of the pinata ruffles in the wind, then with a mighty swing and very loud war-cry, she clove that pinata in half with one swing. The crowd went dead quiet . . . Her boyfriend peed a little.

Seems she forgot to tell him that she had been studying Karate/Japanese martial arts since she was five.

This is the first time Nadatte is seeing Atsali's predator side, a little shocked at how violent she can be when she is "just playing" and is not sure she can keep it in check. Worried about her hurting someone. . . and possibly surprised that she might not be "wearing the pants" in her relationship.

Being an Ursamorph, I would bet a cookie that Nadette has a "Momma bear" side that you had better not cross.

Or as Big Daddy Warbucks once said, "Punjab? no, he is not here to protect me from you, he is here to protect you from me"
Where are we going and why am I in this handbasket?

Speaking of sirens being predators:

Wow. She blushed but she didn't pop a wing boner...

OTOH, she seems a bit more in tune with the "normal" siren thing than Atsali does.

You mean this triple bank shot followed by a redirection into the overhead?

I don't see Katherine allowing Atsali to join the field hockey team if there was a risk, and every school I know of requires written parental permission for join any sports team. That was true even in rural schools even forty years ago . . .

Now I'm wondering how accurate Nadette's information is . . . does she have it right or not?

And, of course, she mentioned her fears to Castela . . . and there's basically zero chance that Pickle won't repeat it to someone, probably Atsali . . .

This is going to be messy.
