Cutie Tail didn't look like it had a barb... At least, not one that could cause lacerations. From appearances, it looks more... Cartilaginous. Which would make more sense seeing as it is evolved to be an erogenous zone... I mean, yeah, some species have barbs and stuff, and don't even get me started on ducks.

Anyway. Some species have barbs and stuff, but... I don't think that'd be something Cutie Tail would do to Nadette. Or something a succubus would have evolved, seeing as the barbs are usually on the male hardware. A female wouldn't have barbs on auxiliary erogenous hardware... Just doesn't make sense. Now, if the tail was meant entirely as a self-defense mechanism, then yeah. That would make sense, but then it would look like a Sphinx tail.
