It's better than the only available alternative...

You're Getting Old.

You enter your birthdate, and it tells you all sorts of random factoids about theings that have happened since then.  I really liked this bit:

Average age of visitors is thirty-one, and i am older than ninety-five per cent of them. Twenty-two per cent of people born on 22 October 1948 have already died.

And I'm older than 85% of the visitors there...

(And I've had the chance to have 1081 candles on my birthday cakes, but I have not always had birthday cakes, so I missed out on that one...)

Or you could look at it as all of us being a bit over thirteen billion years old.

Yeah, yeah, I'm old.

As of today, I'm Lady Gaga + Sasha Pieterse days old.

Che Guerva was executed three days after I was born (that following Monday, actually).

93.892% of the people born on my birthday are still alive.

Well, I'm 21,582 days old... the historic event referenced for me was the publishing of Bram Stoker's "Dracula". The sum-of-days figure mentioned two musicians I've never heard of, which probably confirms that I've long since entered the "old fuddy, out of touch with today's youth culture" category. Not as old as Fairportfan but older than the majority of forumites, I think.
Piffle, youngster. By the old cliche, your life hasn't yet even (re)started at 50. ;)

I really do feel old today... but much of that is coming from the really horrendous chest-and-throat cold I caught last week, which has me coughing and horking and croaking. Worst virus I've had in years (fever and chills the first day or two). So, with luck I'll be feeling less decrepit in a day or three... just in time for jury duty, oh joy.

I commiserate with you. Normally, I get one cold per year, and I already had one in late February. So I was quite surprised to catch another one, around July 20... And it's still kicking around, after 3 weeks! Plus, I got an ear infection with it, a few days later. I already went through two antibiotics prescriptions, and it's still not quite gone.

I still cough a lot, and it's not pretty... Years ago, my wife told me that I sound like an old man, when I have a cold. Especially in the morning, when I first clear my throat (imagine a voice that carries, combined with a low register - I sing low bass - and all the coughing and stuff that comes with congestion... it's not pretty at all...)

My wife made reference this morning to my voice "sounding like death", so I suspect that you and I are both singing tunes from the same phlegmy songbook :(

Apparently, I'm exactly the same age today as @Emilia_Clarke - Daenerys in Game of Thrones - (9963 days) + Prince Christian of Denmark (3221 days). Interesting way of looking at it.

Heeey. :( Also, my cake candles total 666 which is only somewhat alarming.

All I can say is the 595 birthday cake candles I've supposedly had is severely overinflated. Too many birthdays at the same time as traveling for Christmas visits to Mexico. :(

The first Godzilla film premieres in Tokyo. (you were 1 month old)
The Johnny Carson Show is first broadcast on CBS (you were 9 months old)
Disneyland opens to the public in Anaheim, California. (you were 10 months old)
One of my early memories is of being outside at night with my parents and seeing a light move across the sky. I asked what the light was and I was told that it was a satellite.

While I didn't fully understand the implications at the time, I have enjoyed watching the space program develop.
