Wendy's was the only place to actually double-check my order before handing it off...and cheaper.

As far as the place mentioned in the video, the few times I had encountered those on vacation, I've had to resort to ordering everything separate and assembling it myself, after blotting a ton of grease off the burger. I swear that place ladeled extra grease on my burger so every bite poured it out of the now soggy bun and onto me. Only exception is when I went in with a local and they ordered it for me.
Guess I have to go in there in braids, straw hat, boots, ginger gingham top and daisy dukes with a bad fake drawl before they understand me.(hint: never gonna happen).

God I miss Schoop's.

I have almost never had an issue with an order from Whataburger, sorry to hear that you have. It is, by far, my first choice for fast food here in Houston. I don't really have a choice for a nicer place to eat...but there's an abundance of places.

Yes, the Whataburger experience varies greatly depending on the location. There is a plethora of stores here that run the gamut from excellent to excrement.

IN 'N OUT 4 LIFE!

OK burgers, weird fries.

Never had an In 'n Out...they'd just opened one in Austin about the time I moved to Houston. I hear lots of good things about them, though.

I know they're a cult favorite, and I've eaten a bunch, but... I'm not really all that impressed by the burgers themselves. Too thin, and rather too salty (although maybe that's specific to the one In 'n Out nearest my home).

Five Guys does a better job overall, I think... more expensive, but worth it. The patties are juicier, there's a much broader range of accessories (ditto for the carbonated beverages) and the fries are better (and they have bottles of malt vinegar sitting around). Don't go there if you have a serious peanut allergy, though.

I like Five Guys, I've eaten there only a couple of time so far. Had my first Smash Burger this weekend and enjoyed it quite a bit.

I moved from San Antonio about a year and a half ago, they'd had an In-N-Out for a few months and it was quite the talk in SA. Looking at Gobble maps just now, there's In-N-Outs strung all the way from SA to Dallas along 35. Not one in Houston, or along the 45 corridor to Dallas.

I'm going to make a point of getting an In-N-Out this weekend whilst I'm in Dallas.

In 'N Out reminds me of this drive in that was near my HS my senior year.

Good thing nearest one is several states away.

I stay away from any place that advertises "steakburgers". Yankee infiltrators. Had a 5 guys earlier this summer, burger not bad but the bun suffered major structural failure a couple bites in which earned them no points. And I won't say much about the fries, not to my liking at all. May give Smash place a try eventually. Fave burger for me would be from Willie's Ice House, then toss up between Sonic and Whataburger. A couple lifetimes ago there was a place called Spoons at I-10 and Gessner in Houston. Best burgers and chicken soft tacos ever. It's been gone for years.
