Given that, after its initial introduction, Atsali's tail seems to prefer to show itself in rather particular situations, I have to wonder just what it is that Atsali was studying for there to be a tail handy for Nadette to accost.

Could be that Nadette has learned low-key methods to get Cutietail to show up . . . or that Cutietail showed up on his own without Atsali noticing (Hey, she's a bookworm and she's reading) until Nadette took advantage . . .

After all, they're both 16/17 . . . What was that quote? "I'm 17 . . . thinking about linoleum excites me."

That tail does appear to have a mind of its own and to approve of Nadette. . .perhaps it has decided on its own initiative that Nadette is company that it can appear around without causing Atsali any serious problems, and that it wants to date Nadette as well.

Seeing as how Atsali and her tail do seem to be capable of disagreeing, I wonder what would happen if Atsali was all enamoured with somebody while the tail absolutely loathed them. Or if the tail and somebody else fell in love with each other, independent of Atsali. I suppose that partly it all depends on whether the tail is just operating on Atsali's subconsciousness, or if it truly has its own personal consciousness (I have similar questions about the Gorgons' hairsnakes).
