I suspect the "smallification" may have been what gave him both permanent Library access - and the reason why the Fae girls are fawning over him.

Dietzel looks like he's quite popular at the library, but why is he playing games with Charon? Did he pass on and if he wins at checkers he gets to stay with Digit and Monica?
