At least it wasn't Maxwell.
Yeah - one would be hot and one cold...

You threw us, Warrl. Macca doesn't really say anything about "hot and cold" in MSH.

That's okay, I didn't figure out what "hot and cold" referred to until this morning. (And I'm still not at all clear on how it relates.)

(furiously Googeling....)
You mean: "Mirtai Atan warrioress. Married to Kring. Doma of the Peloi." ?
Yeah. That Miri.
Been about fifteen years or more since i read those.
Highly recommended - start with the first three, collectively known as "
The Elenium ".
They were good reads, but MAN was it so close to a full mirror of the Belgariad. Eddings just couldn't let go of the 'all powerful rock' theme.
I'll get a life when it's proven and substantiated to be better than what I'm currently experiencing.

And
The Mallorean . . .
And
The Elenium . . .
It takes a while . . . it takes him 500 words to clear his throat.
A problem some people here can attest I share.

Stephen King is worse. I mean, if Stephen King wrote what H.P. Lovecraft did in 30 pages, it would be a 430 page novel.
Now, if you want an author that went beyond idiocy with the same theme, look at the 'Shannara' series by Goodkind. I mean, seriously - is he up to 21 books now? It's worse than The Destroyer, The Executioner, or the Mickey Spillane Mike Hammer novels - those you at least _expect_ to be similar.
