Thanks guys! This keeps the forum nice and neat.
There seems to be a common thing that social-media sites go for just so long serving their customers before they do something boneheaded that indicates they think the customers serve them...
(Not that this is restricted to the people running the social-media sites... there's apparently no shortage of artists who've set up shop on Patreon with no free content and no links to their stuff on other sites... so you have no clue what sort of art they are selling...)
Consider a slightly different point of view from history:
- Steam Engines - Going faster than a galloping horse will suffocate men and women will die of spasms
- Chinese - The Yellow Peril will infest our society
- Marijuana - Insane Negroes will corrupt our women
- Brassieres - Clamp them down so they don't tempt men
- The Day Care Nightmare - Satanic rituals corrupting our precious children
- Kiddy Porn - 200 years of cherubs and bearskin rug portraits don't apply any more
- Breastfeeding Revival - Ok maybe, but don't tempt men, you slut!
- Internet Porn - Nipples are evil, along with everything else
- Child Sex Trafficing - Shoot the messenger and everyone else in sight just in case
See a pattern? The Tumblr/Facebook/etc trend is just following the latest hysteria. This is not history in the making, it's history repeating itself with the latest Big Bad Bogeyman. Dismissing core principles to address the latest "threat" is not to dismiss the threat, it's letting the threat of a threat corrupt your principles. And, it's all downhill from there. Witness SJW types crucifying entertainer X for wetting their pants when they were four years old. How dare they!
Take anything, add sex, and you can sell it. And you can sell it because much of sex is hidden, assumed, or layered in irrelevant shame. Social standards do not require to despise yourself for the sake of another. Treat everything as a threat to some perfect, unattainable standard and you've got a great recipe for disaster.
"But what about the Children? (tm)" Teach them as soon as they can ask, and encourage them to ask about all the world around them. Honest answers breed honest thought. Cloistered thought leads to unprepared minds facing a world of unknowns with no good response to events that will cross their path someday, maybe soon.
Don't let other peoples limitations become your constraints!

* In Canada, the English language public radio broadcaster (CBC, Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) had already banned the song, while the French branch (Radio-Canada) had not yet gotten any such memo, so they played a portion of it, and compared it with several songs with much more suggestive lyrics**, to suggest that such a ban was a bit ridiculous...
** Like one song, in French that said something like "lay on the grass next to me, don't be shy, embrace me, it's OK, the first time is always awkward"... (The first time is always awkward??? Just how many girls has the singer "deflowered" before?)

What would they think of "Voulez-vous couchez avec moi, ce soir"?
(For fun, when i was younger, I would introduce myself to women and then ask "Voulez-vous couchez avec mon chien, ce soir?" It usually got a laugh, at least with most Canadians. )
I'll get a life when it's proven and substantiated to be better than what I'm currently experiencing.
