She just wouldn't be able to try.
More likely, she would simply be punished.
After all, her father has the power to turn her back into a child, presumably against her will.

nope, magic is much simpler than that!! she would go out the exit, and think she has 'got out'..... she looks around, and sees she is at the 'reception' of the library, or coming in the opposite door...
I am sure her father would notice she has not tried, and think "ah, there is hope for her yet... "
