Aw, she doesn't have the boots on anymore. Guessing that Atsali's problem discouraged her.

I don't think so . . . if she had, Castela wouldn't have needed to explain that it's not painful.eee wrote:I wonder if she's just unleashing emotional pressure, or if there's more to it than that. Who knows what might build up in a Blackthorn/human hybrid? Magic, energy, misadjustment between her internal systems, salt: She seems to be expelling SOMETHING.
Phix knew what was coming. She said Pickle could do it in the study, it was sound-proof. So she's seen Castela do this before, it's not a one time thing.
Or they weren't broken in yet, or she didn't want to scuff them up with this . . .Armorlord wrote:Aw, she doesn't have the boots on anymore. Guessing that Atsali's problem discouraged her.. . .

The boots would be what we called sunday go to meeting shoes and not used for everyday play. As for the great skreee, i do remember a few times when i just needed to yell at the world as a release.

Yeah, a primal scream as it were. As long as you don't have a range that breaks delicate things, merely soundproof is fine.oldmanmickey wrote:The boots would be what we called Sunday go to meeting shoes and not used for everyday play. Nope, I have NEVER done that ever, especially not breaking anyones glasses, including my own...
Yanno how some people have Angels/Devils for a conscience? I have a Dark Elf ShadowKnight and a Half Elf Ranger for mine. The really bad part is when they agree on something.

Re: Need To Vent 2016-07-11
She definitely looks fierce, and dangerous!
This brings up more questions about Castela's heritage, and just how the "weaponization" of the Blackthorn (and other "ancient thorn plants") was intended to work.
A lot of plants (most?) passively or actively repel animals... to avoid being eaten. Thorns, tough bark, leaking "trap sap", and a whole raft of biochemical repellants and toxins are a standard part of their arsenal.
There are only a small number of types of plants which actively kill animals... Venus flytraps, sundews, certain pitcher plants... and when they kill, they eat what they kill. These plants tend to live in nutrient-poor environments, and so they've become insectivores to meet their dietary needs for nitrogen, etc.
We know that Castela is strong enough to clobber, and even kill, the Fae. We know that the Fae are forbidden from stopping her (whether this is entirely cultural, or enforced via paranormal means, I don't know). Castela could have killed Cricket.
So... if she'd succeeded in killing Cricket... could she have consumed the body? Would she? Either directly, or by the "bury, then come back later and sink roots into the remains" method?
Yeah, it's an ugly scenario. But, somehow, I don't think the Shadow Government people who initiated her creation gave a damned about "ugly". They certainly seemed willing to slaughter those that they feared... even those that they feared would oppose their actions.
If they did plan to bio-engineer a small army of Castela-and-siblings to kill, and then digest those paras that they feared, it tells us something gravely disturbing about them.
♫ Black thorns, and tendrils, and stomped-upon wings,
Pickles are some of their Fae-vore-ite things... ♫
(Places an offering of 5-5-5 organic fertilizer into the Pun Jar.)
(It's in a hermetically sealed package, of course... I don't want to smell up the place.)

I've been curious about what Castela looks like in her natural form. I wonder, will we see any pics of her human form posed with her plant form?
There is no such thing as a science experiment gone wrong.
Re: Need To Vent 2016-07-11
Her "natural form" (the basic one at least) seems to be a tangle of thorny brambles:

Shane Wolfe, might be available, and has the chops to handle the job,Sgt. Howard wrote:"Wanted: Babysitter. Combat experience preferred. Will negotiate pay."
But he might be busy, so check first...
As for Castela as a thing to be reckoned with, well- good for the general populace that Katherine is her Mom...
Re: Need To Vent 2016-07-11
Well, this particular page it the first time (as far as I can recall, anyway) where Castela's plant form has a flower with petals.

Does the "potted begonia" form count?Alkarii wrote:Well, this particular page it the first time (as far as I can recall, anyway) where Castela's plant form has a flower with petals.

Re: Need To Vent 2016-07-11
I couldn't recall the flower part, though I did remember the potted plant look.
This new look of a mature plant looks pretty badass, but I'm wondering if she'll look like the Malboro creature from the Final Fantasy series.

Proof Positive the world is not flat: If it were, cats would have pushed everything off the edge by now.

In my defense, that image didn't load last time I was on that page. Thus, my parenthetical qualifier was still correct.

So. . .is Phix's study soundproofed to keep noises on the outside from getting in, or is the purpose more to keep noises from the inside from getting out?
And other variations as well.AnotherFairportfan wrote:She DID it at school.Dave wrote:Doing that at school would definitely earn her a Time Out... if there was any teacher foolhardy enough to try to enforce it.

Yes. In my fanfic, I label her as a noisy lover, so it would actually make sense ...

And she's a noisy eater, though hopefully not both at the same time.Sgt. Howard wrote:Yes. In my fanfic, I label her as a noisy lover, so it would actually make sense ...
She might also decide to pull out her old guitar every now and then, perhaps to serenade Dr. Fields.
