Re: Really Hurt Someone 2016-04-14
Interesting question. Is Katherine upset with the coach for putting Atsali on the team ... or for not giving her enough playing time?
If Coach Adler IS a flyer, i suggest she demonstrate it before momma Gilchrist catches up...

Gee, I wonder who the little stinkweed called?
She did do well at holding her shape, though . . .
And will Coach survive?

Possibly taking issue with the fact that a parental permission note which approved a "field trip" was taken as authorization for "field hockey"?jwhouk wrote:Heh... Momma bear to the rescue?

Re: Really Hurt Someone 2016-04-14
Hmmm . . . I wonder if maybe Coach did get a permission slip . . . purportedly signed by Katherine . . . in which case, Atsali may be grounded until she's 49 . . .
Worse, Katherine might be disappointed in her.
. . .
I don't really think Atsali would do that, though.

Re: Really Hurt Someone 2016-04-14
then again, maybe Katherine is giving Nadette the "easy" way out... Kath gets the Coach so riled up over the fact that she chased her around to field, that the Coach retaliates by kicking Atsali off the team!??! thus saving Nadette and Atsali's relationship, and nobody gets (more) hurt than they already are...
on another note, did anyone else, other than me, think that Atsali was getting more and more violent as the individual panels went by? in the first one the two girls are just bumping into each other, but by the time the fourth panel that shows them actually playing comes up, it looks like she's either knocked out (hopefully not killed) the other team-member (X's on the eyes, standard comic-strip K.O.'ed or killed imagery) and is seemingly just barely holding on to NOT going full-on pycho-killer Siren like when she met Tsillah's Mom... and while her newest anti-shapeshifting charm/meds will probably prevent it from visibly showing in public... but I'll bet that it'll still cause a mental shift, for the worse, in her attitude... i just hope that somebody calls her out of the game for some reason, legit or not, so that she can settle down and get it under control again.

Could also be a case similar to what happened to me when i was playing football in high school. My mother wanted to speak with me during the game and umm encourage me to hit harder and do better. The coach told her she could not come out on the sidelines. She promptly informed the coach where he could go, what he could do when he got there and what was about to happen if he actually laid his hands on her. Until that night i didn't actually know my mother even knew half of those words.

I'd wager that Kath found out about the coach's little deal with Atsali, too.

I have heard that level of violence is 'normal' in RL games...

Perhaps Katherine is just showing her solidarity with her daughter's predatory nature by unleashing her own predatory tendencies on the coach. She might have heard the saying that "the family that preys together stays together".

The little stinkweed shows initiative and responsibility ... again ... and has fun doing it. She is very protective of her sister and her friends.

Katherine is channeling Mama Boucher
(the Waterboy )
Yeah, parental permission should have been obtained prior to giving the Siren/Incubus crossbreed a stick and sending her into a melee . . .
Since this is a school for paranormals, you would think that the coach would have known better. . . . because https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/73 ... f26a03.jpg

I'm inclined to the suggestion that has been advanced - that Atsali forged momma's signature to a permission slip without mentioning it to Katherine - if so, one hopes for Atsali's sake that Katherine sates the major part of her rage on the coach.
At a minimum she's gonna be grounded for quite a while, i suspect.
Maybe a few months of after-school scut work at the Library. With Bia telling her what to do.

Somehow I don't see Atsali forging Katherine's signature . . . it would seem out of character.

i would go along with that up to the point that the Coach got involved... IF...AnotherFairportfan wrote:I'm inclined to the suggestion that has been advanced - that Atsali forged momma's signature to a permission slip without mentioning it to Katherine - if so, one hopes for Atsali's sake that Katherine sates the major part of her rage on the coach.
IF the Swim Coach (Ms. Adler i think) is the SAME coach as the Jai-lai team coach then there is zero excuse for Atsali being on the team, as Adler KNOWS she is a Siren... and therefore a predatory species that shouldn't BE on the team in the first place. we now have a coach who should know better, totally breaking the rule just to get "A Natural" on the teams, with the student only slightly in the wrong by joining the team without actual parental permission and who could get yelled at for being overly enthusiastic in her "innocent" attempts to join the team, like, i mean "SHE didn't 'know' that Predators weren't allowed... and the Coach didn't say anything to ME about it, right?"... whereas she could possibly get a few days of suspension for the act of forging her mom's signature, but that's about it i can foresee... the blame falls mostly on the coach.
HOWEVER... IF the two coaches are two DIFFERENT people, and that this team's coach does NOT know Atsali is a Siren... after which it is almost entirely Atsali's fault if the subject of predator-hood ever came up and she lied about it to get on the team...

That ain't Jai Alai that they're playing. That's Field Hockey. Big difference.

Nadette looks awful worried. Maybe it's time someone thought of a safeword.
