McBride has given Lily what-for on at least two occasions.

During the Mapimi escapade, she ripped Lily a new one (that is, a new bullet hole in her knee) for being so "downer" about her (un)life.

Then, more recently, out on the island, McBride chided her again for being so negative, in the face of the fact that Lily now has a second chance for the things that were stolen from her by the Nü Gui: a family, and a place of respect in the world.

The second talking-to seems to have gotten the important message across and I think we're seeing Lily looking better as a result.

The healing is well underway.

Of course, Lily had just shot Suzi center-of-mass on the page before...

Nice to be having a hissy fit with someone you cango all-out Dirty Harry with an merely annoy and inconvenience to release your tensions.

I feel so good, right now... my input mattered... 8-)
(I don't know when exactly it was changed, but Castela is indeed talking about "Plantasauruses" now.)

Very tangentially related question: does Paul use a custom font or does he hand-letter his comics? Early on it looks like he hand-lettered, but now... Well, I think he types now. All of the E's look the same, etc.

In the first comic, you can see two Y's that look different.
He's mister GlytchMeister, he's mister code
He's mister exploiter, he's mister ones and zeros
They call me GlytchMeister, whatever I touch
Starts to glitch in my clutch!
I'm too much!

I believe he's stated that he digitized his own hand-lettering, and now uses the digitized font for most of the comics.

You can see the effect of this occasionally, when he makes a typo and then posts a corrected version almost immediately. No way he re-drew the whole strip :-)

Also, note the fact that he frequently sells the originals of his strips on Ebay, and that almost all of them are without text in the word balloons. The characters are hand-drawn, the backgrounds and text are added digitally.

He still does some hand-lettered ones at times, when the occasion calls for it:

The ones he hand-letters seem to be ones which depict some of the most emotionally-intense incidents in the story, where "expressive writing" really pays off. I'm a sucker for 'em when he puts them up on eBay.
