I went to a job interview last week. And I also applied to another one, in case I don't get that one.
I'm probably gonna do more applications later this week. I doubt I'll hear about either before the end of the week.

There were some serious allegations of assault in Florida, as the result of a prank "gone wrong".
Best of luck! Doing multiple applications makes good sense... you might end up being able to choose among multiple offers.Alkarii wrote:I went to a job interview last week. And I also applied to another one, in case I don't get that one.

The potential employers all take applications from more people than they intend to hire, if they can get them... no reason you shouldn't respond in the same fashion.Dave wrote:There were some serious allegations of assault in Florida, as the result of a prank "gone wrong".

Does she like Spinach cheesy chicken sausage? I have the sudden urge to drop some in front of my kitty and your pretty pooch.Hansontoons wrote:Jasper picture time!

Yanno how some people have Angels/Devils for a conscience? I have a Dark Elf ShadowKnight and a Half Elf Ranger for mine. The really bad part is when they agree on something.

If food is involved, she is a very attentive best friend.

Didn't have time to get the long zoom: these are roughly 850 x {something} segments of the 6000 x 4000 24 megapixel frame, shot with the 18 - 55 zoom at max. Don't know if it spotted me as i was moving in, but it had been sitting there for a few minutes after i spotted it and went in for the camera - i thought it was a hawk at first, but then i saw its head.
And then it took off.

And then it took off.

yeah, thats some kind of carrion-bird. *ick* but niche...
I'm off to verify the year of a Ford 8N tractor w/ a cracked water pump that needs replacing,
just 'pulled the trigger' on some Win10 licenses for a non-profit ('10' aint so bad, not like 8.0 was...),
and bolt together some pallets for a storage shed project I can get back too with the next few days being non-rain events based.

Here's what greeted me this morning as I stepped out on the deck. My area is lousy with red tail hawks right now. The bird may have been perched on the deck railing before I disturbed it. As I opened the back door, I first caught sight of motion and then the bird rising to the tree branch as I turned to see what it was. Apologies for the poor lighting, the bird flew away as I was attempting to get a better angle.

I think the bird in FPF's images is a black vulture. I'm not the best at identifying the varieties, though.

Re: More Stuff
Well, I haven't heard back about the interview. And just a couple days after applying to another place, I got another call from some company that screens applicants, and asks me questions about my qualifications, and will then proceed to send me a shitload of emails with links to jobs that require degrees I specifically tell them I don't have, some being out of state. This is the third time it has happened.
I later applied to the same Target where I used to work, and also to a gaming store. Apparently, the game store needs 3 people to sort cards. So hopefully I'll at least get an interview.
Why the hell does it have to be so difficult to get a job now?

I feel your pain. It took over a year after coming home from overseas to find a $9/hr janitorial job. And I got that on a friend telling me that at the company where he works the houskeeping company needed hands.Alkarii wrote:Well, I haven't heard back about the interview. I keep looking and I'm getting almost zero response, including Building Maintenance where I have over 15 years experience.
And those 'job finding' sites will keep sending you inappropriate openings forever...(I've never had a nursing degree, or a nursing job, and reminded that particular service several times before putting their addy into the spam file)
Sending positive energy towards you...
