By GUM I like Jessie! The question is, does Mrs. Gotlieb know who else is on Atsali's side? She should be thinking twice about challenging that much of the paranormal hierarchy.

Family Reunion Friday!!!
I'd be more interested in seeing who Grandpa might have been. I doubt he changed his name to Sullivan after leaving Grandma, and went on to a life as an explorer and adventurer who jumped German troops on his motorcycle during the war to escape them... but Jin would know.

Maybe Dad didn't move fast enough, mermaids are predators. By myth they lured sailors to mate with them and drown them. Siren's do the same thing but on land. It does implies that Sirens and mermaids were competing species for a limited pool of prey. So there has always been some tension between the two species.
Ambush questions are fun. Watching the mental impact of them as they distort, or crumble, opinions based on faulty logic.

hmmm, maybe Atsali's mum lured Mrs. Gotlieb's husband, that is why the bitchiness??? and the resultant fight is why Atsali is an orphan??? That lost her all her 'friends' so she is locked in to 'no-one needs friends, they betray you' mode...:roll:

I think we'll find out shortly what's going on.

Caution -- let's not assume Jessie's father is not absent from her life or his wife! This might just be a girls day out for them.

Bravo Base this is Bravo Charley- Pilaf and fava beans have arrived, thank you. Mama Tuna now in direct confrontation with Little Tuna, looks like dissention in the ranks that will boil over into mutiny. Our big guns in position and holding- but I suspect Mama Tuna will be torpedo'ed by her own offspring. Light Marine Force Recon still speaking in code to Big Bird, apparently Big Bird not familiar with code. Very confusing. Chasseur now changing pants. Upper management still seems obliviouse to situation. Runner just showed up with baked good that has ancient writings in three different formats, says it is 'Rossetta Scone'- still don't get it. Cameras rolling, all is documented. Over

Mermaids don't drown their lovers in this day and age- they move with them to California and divorce them.

Far more cruel and very profitable.

Tell me that Jessie's mom doesn't look like Joan Crawford... http://www.cbsnews.com/news/almanac-mommie-dearest/

I'm telling you she does! As soon as I saw the strip that's immediately who I thought of. Same attitude too!

Poor Jessie. Something else too... If Jessie has taken to talking to her mother that way, home life can't be good at all. No wonder she acted the way she did at first until Atsali's act of kindness and sympathy. Her home life must be a living hell.

phpBB forum software does not have a built-in "like" function. There is an add-on mod available, but as I recall, it is a bit cumbersome to install and it may not support the latest version of phpBB. (Which reminds me, I need to upgrade my board.)

Would that mean that evil, insane Grandma would be known as Crone Jawford?

While 65 feet seems deep to civilians, may not be much for a larger scale para-aquatic :}

Which segues to how many folk have we seen that are not within an order of magnitude of "normal" human size? Would that just be they do not hang out in cities because it would be too crowded? Even with shape-shifting, do the larger ones not want to bother scrunching down all the time?

I have a feeling that this is going to mirror the whole gym class incident.

And a variant of the words, "No, you can stay" will be uttered toward Jessie.
