I really don't get why someone would let things go so far that they'd cheat. I know the reasons why people actually do so, but wouldn't it be easy to just tell the person you don't feel like you're in love with them anymore?

Although, if the other person is abusive, that's a completely different story. I hate abusers.

Wait, how did you learn about that?

Greater minds than the lot of us combined have pondered that one to no avail- certainly getting away from an abusive situation is fully understandable, but not being able to keep yer zipper up (or yer skirt down) because some bit of pretty/handsome crossed your path... well, there's a problem there, and usually it follows a well-worn path. Beware the individual that has a string of mates to their name- especially if he/she jumps from one to the next in rapid sequence.

The fact of the matter is, that many such adulterous relationship get started as nothing more than a "sympathetic ear", with no intention whatsoever of cheating on anyone. They are unhappy at home, they happen to talk to someone of the opposite sex about it (who may be, and in fact probably are, having problems at home themselves). They understand each other, and talking with each other relieves some of the stress that they are going through. Most of the time, they don't even realize when exactly they started falling for each other. Most likely, the first time they "get together" for real, it took them by surprise...

It's not always like that, of course, but it often is. Instead of trying to fix things at home, they complain about it outside, and it goes downhill from there...

Yeah, that's what I meant when I said I already knew the reasons people do it, but what I don't understand is why it gets to be too difficult to stop and say "we shouldn't do this". Though sometimes you do, and the other person insists, and you get a bit of a fustercluck.

Granted, I've never actually been the one to cheat. Almost was "the other guy" a couple times, but nothing ever actually happened. That was almost ten years ago, and I don't really see myself getting into the dating scene anytime soon, so that's hopefully a mistake I won't have a chance to make.

Oooh! :!: Idea!

Hide my shoes(and about two pounds of legos) under my bed, and wait for him to sleep...
Pour them in a nice pile, then spread evenly until floor up to the edge of the bed is covered. Get in bed, remove and stow shoes.

Wait for nature to call.

Instant karma.

Wish I had those back when I had to deal with a walking sign.

On topic, I like the halo effect on Vulcan, Ff.
Yanno how some people have Angels/Devils for a conscience? I have a Dark Elf ShadowKnight and a Half Elf Ranger for mine. The really bad part is when they agree on something.

Guess the medium George Barr used to create this fanzine cover:

(I've seen the original - this reproduction doesn't do it justice; the colour tones are much brighter and more vibrant.)

I'm not good at this kind of thing, soooo... I'm gonna guess crayons. Though it looks more like color pencils to me.

Pencils is closer - ballpoint pen. Zillions of teeny lines, creating colours that aren't available as pen colours as well as the ones that are.

Is that your own guess, or is that a statement of fact? If it is your own guess, I would tend to agree with you... but if you already know, are are therefore stating a fact, there's no point in agreeing or not, it there... ;)

As i said - i've seen the original of that one, in the Art Show at a Worldcon. Also, the site where the image is linked from says so, even if i didn't know.

in a military TM 31-210: Improvised Munitions handbook? or maybe one of the many civilian versions of "the Anarchist's Cookbook"?
