So she could keep things straight. At that size there is sag and droop just from the volume and mass. With the waistcoat she had to have something so her appearance would look right. Sadly if she does wear that theere is not a whole lot of studying will be going on. Jacob will be suffering from low blood pressure and unable to think. In fact every guy in the place will be suffering from the same problem.

I honestly think Atsali just does not realize exactly what effect she is having on poor Nadette here. I think she's being extremely heteronormative and not thinking that any girl could have that kind of "thing" about her without the siren song causing it.

Not necessarily. She is very young and those boobs are only about a month old. The ligaments could still be resisting gravity at this point. (In fact, from the way she looks when she's cavorting around braless at home, they seem to be impervious to gravity.) Plus, magic. She's a half-siren/half-incubus, so her magic is going to invested in her appearance...keeping everything perky beyond the laws of physics. The push-up bra is rather superfluous.

On a different tack, "honey"! We finally get to hear a non-sweetie endearment--possibly due to the twins non-Minnesota-ness.

And on the third hand, Nadette is a friend indeed, helping her friend get in good with a romantic partner that isn't herself. Either she has a resolve of steel, or she has foreknowledge that this relationship with Jacob is not to be, or not to be for long. As a matter of fact, wasn't this plan to impress Jacob in the coffee ship her idea in the first place? Hmmm...

In real time, Atsali blossomed overnight just 13 months ago. They were at the mall for some back-to-school shopping. It is currently warm wet winter weather, but it was still short-sleeves weather just a couple of weeks before. But before that, we had a cold snap--not too bad judging by the coats.

So school starts in late August, cold snap, then short-sleeve weather sounds like the chill before Indian Summer, which is September. Heavy wet snow falls during warm winter weather that happens at the end of autumn--Novemberish. So she's had the boobs for 3 months, tops.

Had a demon or ghost or something that killed people

what that would sound like.
