I think she is just that naive. The most worldly naive I've ever seen, but still naive.

Maybe that's why her...pectoral muscles...are so big.

Are there Gorgons with West Texas accents in Atsali's family tree somewhere?

Is "sweetie" a Minnesota thing? Every character uses it as their one and only endearment. (Except I think that Phix calls Monica "pumpkin" sometimes.)

I don't think Phix is necessarily from Minnesota.Thor wrote:Is "sweetie" a Minnesota thing? Every character uses it as their one and only endearment. (Except I think that Phix calls Monica "pumpkin" sometimes.)

Mayahuel called Jin "muffin crumb" (and she's definitely not from Minnesota, at least not originally).Dr. Otter wrote:I don't think Phix is necessarily from Minnesota.

Euryale and Atsali meeting would be hug-ageddon, wouldn't it.

Like I said Nadette is too wise to to take advantage of Sali's promise for many reasons. She knows it doesn't matter if Sali is clueless about her feelings or just deliberately ignoring them. All Sali has to offer is friendship, nothing more. So that is what Nadette will accept. She may wish for more but will settle for what is offered. Seers are wise.
Ambush questions are fun. Watching the mental impact of them as they distort, or crumble, opinions based on faulty logic.

Ever since she said "Bollocks, Monica! The girl's fainted!" i've always suspected that Phix learnt her English from a Tommy in Egypt.Dr. Otter wrote:I don't think Phix is necessarily from Minnesota.Thor wrote:Is "sweetie" a Minnesota thing? And i hear Eve Arden's voice - i think Paul's said he hears Alex Kingston, which i can believe, but i thought of Arden first - tall slender sardonic redhead.

Nice to see you fixed the link...AnotherFairportfan wrote:And i hear Eve Arden's voice - i think Paul's said he hears Alex Kingston, which i can believe, but i thought of Arden first - tall slender sardonic redhead.
I went and watched the clip (before you even fixed the link), and followed up with parts 2 and 3 of that episode. It was mildly amusing to see that Old Spice commercial, towards the end... "Never has one dollar given you so much..."
Of course, the show itself was good, too. ("Oh, those foundations!" - in part 3...)

I hadn't noticed before, but their "hair-did" is quite similar, on that page... (Atsali in the first panel, Euryale in the second, of course. Because the snakey "hair-did" in the first panel is really not similar at all... Just thought I'd clarify...Yamara wrote:Ah, well, when the social performance is over, and the pros let their hair down, they get serious, compare notes, and strategize: http://wapsisquare.com/comic/queen-bee/Opus the Poet wrote:Euryale and Atsali meeting would be hug-ageddon, wouldn't it.![]()

Poor Nadette really doesn't know what the deal is... It seems she is a bit embarrassed that she may have let the cat out of the bag and realized how naïve Atsali is... 'Sali is giving all the right signals, but I don't think Nadette is trusting whether or not they're real or perceived.
There is nothing worse than letting your feelings for someone show only to get shot down when they let you know the feelings aren't mutual.
