I don't think he shrunk, i think she grew.
Dear, don’t bore him with trivia or burden him with your past mistakes. The happiest way to deal with a man is never to tell him anything he does not need to know. L. Long

I dunno. Before, he was easily big enough to be looking over the balcony, and Cricket just barely made it to the balcony rail. Now, he's sitting in the middle of a big open space, Cricket is looming over him, and I think she's still leaning on that same balcony rail.

I wonder if her anxiety flashes serve as a defense, or if they're just totally chaotic in nature? Either way, I think we're seeing what M meant when she said that Calista, being a Fae, could be dangerous to others without meaning to.

Dietzel's eye-roll was perfect  and Cricket's defense of Monica's awesomeness was wonderfully ironic (and a bit sad... Calista still doesn't yet really Get It)

If I am seeing clearly then Dietzel did indeed shrink. In the earlier panels (both today and yesterday), Dietzel is able to look over the railing. In the final panel of today's comic Calista is hanging onto the same railing looking down at Dietzel who is some what diminished from his earlier stature.

she's still hanging off the railing, which is huge to her. So i doubt that.

I was trying to recall what breed Dietzel is. Now I see that he is a "tea cup" version.

Pun aside, I think he's pibble or pibble-mix IIRC.

Considering Her Highness' actual size, poor dinky Dietzel is now about as big as a June Bug, not exactly where Wapsi's favorite Bull Terrier would like to be.

LOVE the expression in Panel Two.

Calista going to have some very fast explaining to do when she finds out Dietzel is Monica's dog.

After that is finished Calista may find she now is responsible for the care and feeding of Monica's dog. (A cockroach sized dog isn't safe around big feet.) Wonder if she has ever had a pet with empathy before (I suspect she had pet bugs). Living with a dog you care about helps you to learn to control your negative emotions, because they can pick them up.

She's the same size against the background, both during and after her anxiety arc.

She assures him it's not permanent.

"Not permanent" is not very reassuring.

"Just for a few decades" is "not permanent". Even "indefinite" is "not permanent".

The tone seems reassuring though.

Seventy-two years is "not permanent" - but if you're seventeen it' likely as good as.

If nothing else, the MiB can prolly find someone to fix it,

It's been 17 years, but we finally have the 4th movie, "Honey, I Shrunk the Dog."

After everything D has seen why would shrinking send him over the edge. If Phix appearing in Monica's home to give back Jin's book didn't do it nothing will. BEsides if he can put up with being Bumble Bee Boy he can cope with anything.
