Darn! I thought I had the answer, thinking Tepoz, when Shelly first saw him and went Phoenix Wright (sp?) on him, giving him a boot to the head, but his reply was "check please". Even after the second boot, he said nothing until a few strips later, saying "Help please?"

There was another encounter with Shelly and Tepoz, where she ends up punching him, and he rattles off a shopping list: "A loaf of bread, a stick of butter, and a quart of milk".

And here I thought I was so smart...

Okay, a hint: It took place off-stage.

As in, the quote bubble came from off stage?

YAAAAY I GOT ONE!! I think!

OK, this might be worded vaguely enough to be a good question: Who literally threw the book at Phix, which caused in the figurative book getting thrown at Phix?

That would have been Oedipus.

Q: What did Jacqui give up, and what four specific things did she anticipate getting as a result?

I know she gave up Vet school, to start her Yoga studio. Can't think of what she expected to get. Have to look it up.

Edit:
She is expecting to make a living and be happy. (I'm counting those as two distinct expectations.)
She wants people like Shelly to feel welcome there.
Any income she gets will come from the yoga studio. (Because she won't let her aunt's inheritance money define her. She'll only use it to purchase the space for the studio.)
In case the above is considered part of the "make a living" from the first one, here's this: she wants to teach yoga full-time.

I am probably splitting hairs and making something out of nothing, even though I claim to have four distinct things she expects to happen by quitting Vet school to start her studio. Therefore, I will wait for confirmation before posting a question (or wait to be denied, and not post the next question...)

(snip)
That's the correct "give up" and link. I was thinking of the "gets" being "teach yoga full time", "meditation room", "herbal tea bar" and "kickboxing studio". I did phrase the question rather openly, and I think your answers fit it as well as the ones I was thinking of. So... we have a winnah! Your next question, please?

Woohoo!

Ahem...

Q: On two separate occasions, two different characters used two different, yet equally cheesy/corny/lame methods to get to kiss someone.
Can anyone tell me what in the Wapsiverse I'm talking about?

Sounds like Tina & Euryale under the mistletoe*. I'll wait until confirmation before posting a question.

I remember Ditzel playing "Spin The Bottle" and kissing some one. Monica kissed Kevin for the first time while drunk, though getting drunk was not a deliberate plan on her part. Monica also used the excuse of needing to give "Mouth To Mouth" to kiss Kevin after a tennis mishap, though I don't recall if the mishap was planned or not.

I'm about to call it a night so I may not be remembering everything exactly. I'll check again when I'm more awake and have had a cup or two of tea. :)

Heh. On my latest reread, I noticed that M and Kevin's first date kiss was scripted by Shelly. 8-)

... though I suppose that's more greasy than cheesy ... ;)

Though I had not remembered those, they are not the ones. Both for the fact they were not what I was looking for, and for the fact that they are A) using the same method each (I specified they each used a different method) and B) did they get the kiss? We certainly can't tell.

I forgot about Dietzel. A good one, but not as cheesy as I was looking for.

Drunk kiss: not a cheesy plan, just a spur of the moment thing.

Mouth to mouth: not planned, but certainly cheesy/lame. (Also not the one I was looking for, but could count. Hmm. Have to think...)

That is, indeed, half of the answer I was looking for.

So now, we have Aed, who gave a valid answer (mouth-to-mouth), which was a cheesy, unplanned, spur of the moment thing, and Sidhekin, with half the answer I was looking for.

You guys either toss a coin to see who asks next, or decide that whoever finds the other half I was looking for gets to ask.

Oh, Shelly offering Owen lip balm. 8-)

... I guess that's also more greasy than cheesy ... but if the BBQ sauce counts, I guess that's it?

Funny how both plans were Shelly's, huh?

I was using Cheesy in the slang way:

- Trying too hard, unsubtle, and inauthentic.

- something that's trying too hard and ends up looking fake

- inferior or cheap; chintzy:

Yeah, I was shooting for a play on words there. Trying to hard, I guess.

Question again? Okay: For all we have heard of grandpa Aaron Sullivan, I think we've only seen him once. When did we see Aaron Sullivan?

No, not really. I saw the word play, but just wasn't sure if you meant it as a word play or not. In other words, "It's not you, it's me..."
:P :P :P :P :P

Sidhekin wrote:Question again? Okay: For all we have heard of grandpa Aaron Sullivan, I think we've only seen him once. When did we see Aaron Sullivan?
There were two places I looked. First one, is when Monica went to her attic to listen to her G'Pa's tapes. That was not it.

Therefore, it had to be the night before the gang was to fix the Calendar Machine, and Monica ponders her eventual role in the ordeal, fearing that she will end up being a sacrifice. "Not that a sacrifice isn't noble. I just wanted to ride off into the sunset, like you did."

Edit: Question on next page.
