Here's another question about fae in the Wapsi-vers. Do the fae indulge in blood feuds?
While an Unseelie clan fae may not think of Castela as a person, but as a parts source to be harvested, now that she has killed one of their members will the Unseelie clan need to avenge their fallen one or suffer some loss of face or standing in the Unseelie kingdom?
Another question. Assuming that a blood feud does now exist does it require Castela's blood or as in old Cherokee clan traditions will the blood of a near relative serve just as well to settle the blood debt should the original offender be out of reach?

One wonders whether we may eventually meet the Wapsiverse equivalent to the Queen Of Air And Darkness. If so I suspect she'll be a serious badass!
(and while chasing down that reference, I hit the Wikipedia page on "War For The Oaks" and found a link to an 11-minute movie trailer/demo Will Shetterly and Emma Bull did back in '94. Very tasty stuff...)

Considering the relative sizes, she might have dismembered it by grabbing it in one fist and squeezing.Catawampus wrote:If Castela caught it when it was actually trying to attack her or influence her in some way, though, then she might have more of a justifiable claim to protecting herself (though even then the whole dismembering it part kind of pushes things a bit far).

But... I thought that was for the courts to decide...meisdadoo wrote:Well there is this: http://www.wavlist.com/movies/250/tl-killed.wavTheDOCTOR wrote:"They damn well deserved it"? Thats a heck of a thing to tell Pickle, even if its true. I just hope Castela doesn't take that to heart and think its O.K. to "OFF" anyone who deserves it. Maybe the M.I.B. in this story have that "Flashy-Thingy" and Castela can just 'forget' the killing. I hope this brings Cricket and Pickle some closure and peace. WELL, we'll see what comes tomorrow.
I agree that that last statement of Calista was probably not the best thing to say... that's quite the judgement call! Even if it is because it relates to unseelie fae, with all the bad history between them and Calista's clan.
Maybe something to the effect of "you may not have known at the time, but that was actually self-defense" would have been a wiser statement to make.
But as far as this turn of event being "convenient", I don't really think so. Deserving of death or not, Castela did kill a fae (as far as we can tell), and she now knows that some (all?) fae "can cry", meaning they are people too. She will feel guilt for a while, and that is anything but convenient. Also, the fact remains that the scenario put forth by Calista is entirely plausible.
So we'll just have to wait and see how things play out.

Well, there's hot water, creamer and sugar, and the tea rack selection. And you could request a cookie tray selection if the snack bags in the vending machines don't do it for you.

Why are the pastries available only through sign up sheets? I don't want to write about pastries, I want to eat them!Timotheus wrote:Fresh coffee is up in the confusion corner.

My understanding is that the sign up sheet is for inventory control. Wouldn't want to run low on anything.

As a cheapskate with little regard for my own health, I'd be happy to stop at Burger King & pick up a few "pies" except somebody else bought them all.
