Then where does this copy of "True Companion" by Steely Dan go?
Throw it in the general direction of the PunJar. It's that strangely dark spot where the table salt is unstoppable shuffling towards like a tiny Dalek. :P ...
Not to worry. Gimme a sec, I'll cobble together a local time accelerator to increase the rate of singularity evaporation without causing everything else in the universe to decay into less than subatomic mush...
Hold on, I gotta go visit House's pocket universe for some old TARDIS parts...
*voip*
(Distant clattering and clanging as I dig through the giant TARDIS trash pile)
*voip*
Ooo-kay! Let's see, need some superglue here, put a neodymium magnetic ring here to focus the beam... Get some gorilla tape to hold the thing that goes beep when there's stuff on this bit...
Aaand done! Let's give this a shot, shall we?
(Hooks the device up to one of those big elecric dryer power outlets, slams some switches home, puts on a welder mask and some sunscreen)
(Yelling over noise) you may want to stand back and avert your eyes. I'm not sure if this is going to work... Exactly as intended...(big grin, pushes big red button)
*schlorpiniiinnnggg!!!*
(The table, dalek salt, and the surrounding air suddenly decay into less-than subatomic mush, then just as suddenly re-consitute as a small cloud of hydrogen, and then re-decays and repeats this cycle until I quickly shut off the machine, at which point the hydrogen rapidly oxidizes, causing a really loud bang.)
Ouch. That was loud. Let's see... (Uses lead tongs to pick up a tiny, empty glass mason jar) Looks like a jar to me. It seems everything inside was decayed too, but the pun jar is fine, if a bit hungry. So, all is well! Let's go out to the desert and blow this machine to bits, shall we? Waaay too dangerous to have it lying around...

Better be careful there. "Gorilla" tape would have held things together. "Guerrilla" tape would tear things apart and disrupt the system's means of control and communication... it's flashy stuff but not really all that useful in the long run. ;)

I typed gorrila, autocorrect defaulted to guerrilla. Now fixed to be gorilla.

Now, to add something constructive to the topic: I also noticed Monica's and Atsali's hairstyles were switched. I'm not sure if we're seeing "Freaked-out-Tina-O'vision" or if they just did that themselves.
...Or if Paul went on autopilot when he got to their hair and decided to leave it in to mess with us.
If we are seeing in "FOT O'Vision", she doesn't appear to be seeing any auras.

...
I wonder if lead-lined radiation hazard suits block aura-vision. Probably not. Demons operate on emotions, which aren't radiative energy. However, the brain's electrical activity produces interesting magnetic fields that can conceivably be read from a distance. But lead doesn't block magnetism.

I'm pretty sure Atsali's hair is due to the fact that she's wearing a hat. Kind of hard to have your hair do that 'whoosh' up and over thing when it's being held down. As for Monica.......' :? And while it would be funny if the hat and jacket were the ursa twins in disguise I can't see any reason for them to do that. They don't seem to have any problem blending in with the human crowd so there should be no reason to hide here. Unless Monica's taking Atsali shopping and she (Atsali) wants a second opinion without tipping Monica off for some reason.

Okay...a few things...
1. I hate sick days, because they throw off my reading of Wapsi...and then I forget I've missed a day and get confuzzled. :(
2. Tina can't read Atsali to pick a beverage?? WTF?!? She's obviously still reading since she picked up on what M wants/needs and that Atsali is avian...Wow...just wow! Very intrigued to see if this Means Something or if it's just because she's ten kinds of frazzled after this morning's quantum space experience.
3. I think this might be the first time the thread for the current day's page has gotten to 3 pages before I got a chance to read it (except when I've been on vacation). :) Good to see that Paul's still go the ability to make us all flip out and go post crazy.

Now back to my cozy little nest in Confusion Corner. :)

~walks over to the black spot with the saltshaker and then settles his bags on the floor that he pulled out his pun jar maintenance space where it has everything and anything that can happen to a pun jar will happen repair shop

opens a odd book and begins to read it.. "hmm... okay, i see what to do here" reaches in to his bags and pulls out two Flux Capacitor,a 2 improbable drives that he had after Marvin gave him a copy of the schematics, first gen k9 unit and a copy of GlaDios Ai...

he begins to shove the drives into the black spot to which they begin to change the shape of the grain of sand, till its back to being a jar, then he lifts the jar's lid an and places one of the flux capacitors under the lid which be comes absorbed into the cellular level of the pun jar which begins to make the jar glow slightly... he looks up to the crowd and says" wait to you see what it can do now, your going to be saying why did he upgrade the punjar...

with that he takes pair of rubber mittens and grabs pair of his shazam powered goggles, places them over his eyes, and smiles as he drops the other flux into the jar which causes audio back feed of that sounds a cross between stop, hammer time song and the war of the worlds{ the old movie aliens sound effect for when they moved} after the backlash ends a thunder storm hits the punjar since he placed the other flux inside the base of the jar which had a lightening rod taped to it.... he smiles and says laughing IT'S ALIVE, ITS ALIVE MWAHAHHAAHAHA

he then embeds the k-9 unit's head into the side of the jar and places the ai of GlaDios in the head of the K9 unit, after all that he runs few tests he says "this statement is false" and the k9 unit says "no but your going to feel sorry that you said that to me!!"

he reaches into his bags and pulls out one clean handkerchief and begins to clean up his work and his hands, then throws it back into the bag with everything else and then leaves the jar alone to its normal collections duites of puns payments..

"work complete" then stands up and walks over to the restaurant in confusion corner and orders a pan garrgleblast to drink.

as he raises his drink, he smiles and says the new punjar is online and ready for you collections is been updated to except everything and anything that you can think of and wont affect in anyways now...

do you worst, it will keep going and going

EDIT: I went back and looked at some earlier strips with Tina and I was wrong. Her teeth have always been pretty pointy.
They're just not always displayed quite so prominently. What with acting all cheerful plus being terribly stressed, she may be baring her fangs more than usual. Which makes her fit in with Atsali's bear hat, I suppose.

I did notice the swap of hairstyles, and wondered just what the two of them are up to. I suppose that Atsali's could be explained by having a hat pushing hers down. As for Monica's. . .well, we did just recently see her with it sticking straight up and on fire, so there's no telling what fashion trends she may be following.

I'm more worried about what happens if she starts to plow through Becky's pastry display - the metabolism of a bird-of-prey on a teenage sugar rush....

She'll be challenging Dusty to an air race, next....

If that shirt was Kath's, it belongs to Atsali now. It'll never fit Katherine properly again.

If the Ursamorph twins are involved, it would seem they are both hairdos now. One in on Atsali's head and one on Monica's. Don't know why they would want to do that though in the first place. If it's just each doing up their hair like the other, Atsali must have a fall or wiglet on to make up the extra hair. I doubt her usual hair could hang down that far just by being brushed (finally). Guess, if that's so, it could be because of the Ursamorph that Tina is confused as to Atsali's order. She just knows Monica well enough to cut through any interference. More likely, as My2Cents mentioned, Atsali is just not a big coffee or tea drinker yet. No history to read.

As to why they need Tina. They may have an appointment with Lydia for a bra fitting and want Tina along for hand holding since she's been through it, but I'm pretty sure Paul will have something more mind twisting that that in store. Atsali's presence here may just be a red herring. Also, Tina may need Monica to wrangle her demons into compliance again. Monica can quickly put the fear of god (demi-god?) into them. Tentacle won't know what hit her.

There is the possibility that as a teenager the young lady in question heavily prefers carbonated beverages or fruit drinks, thus confusing our caffeine orientated barista.

As opposed to all the other pop culture icons, 60s rock album covers, cartoons and advertisements that are all still being reproduced as tee shirt art (not to mention Norman Rockwell artwork covers, WWII posters, Broadway shows, and lapsed brand names).

'Cause the Heavy Metal she is wearing is way more better!

I ordered one of those from the mag and was sorely disappointed when their idea of a "large" size t-shirt was closer to a tight medium so it dint fit even way back then. I think I still have it wadded up in a container somewhere. I also used to have a collection of the magazine from the first issue, I subscribed when I first saw it advertised. I was in college at the time and each issue circulated through the dorm and eventually made its way back to me. Unfortunately for me the majority of the collection was lost in a flood in 1998. C'est dommage.

No idea if the design has re-surfaced in a store like Urban Outfitter or Hot Topix as my daughter quit frequenting them a few years back. I would have a fun time when we went shopping, commenting on how fashions that were popular when I was a teen were again "hot". Same with Hollister. Fashion that had its roots in true hand-me-downs or honestly worn out articles of clothing. Back to the daughter, she took possession of a t-shirt of mine that has the Pink Floyd "Wish You Were Here" robot hands shaking logo on it. (edit: I purchased it soon after the album came out) She wore it at university and received compliments on the "vintage" look along with queries where she bought it. She was proud to remark it was original and good luck finding one.
