Re: Awesomly Innocent 2014-01-10
I find it rather interesting...
Atsali is worried that other kids will make fun of her because of her 'suddenly acquired assets'. She is both right and wrong. Other girls will see this as something to be jealous of and will try to make fun of her over it to make her look bad. Boys on the other hand will be fascinated by the phenomenon and will shower her with attention.
A double edged sword to be sure, but not quite the end of the world Atsali fears.
Thank God that it doesn't happen this way to us in real life. I was thankful that I had several months to learn how to deal with expanding assets... LOL

So nice to see a Kath bring confident in her ability to handle her teen daughter . Again - love the colours used in the panel -just adds that extra ZAP to the whole overall effect. Well Done Mr.P. (:>))

When DID Katherine adopt the kids, and were they 'sisters' before that?
Re: Awesomly Innocent 2014-01-10
After her and Atsali's "Little Adventure" wrapped up, Kat decided to Adopt, but 'Sali said she wouldn't go unless Castela was adopted too. "Pickle" was very close to Atsali at the Orphanage, being paired up by protocol in a older-keeping-an-eye-on-younger deal.jayessell wrote:When DID Katherine adopt the kids, and were they 'sisters' before that?

Yes. Many times, especially with an older adopted child, they will not call the new mother "mom," out of love and respect for the original mother. They usually use their first name instead. Additionally, these two have gone to hell and back on a more or less equal footing. It would be perfectly natural for her to use Kath's first name. But Paul has taken to having her call Kath mom right off, and mean it. I think that's great. Of course, as far as Castela is concerned, she has had her fondest wish granted and is delighted to call her mom, as well as, thinking of her as mother, period. And then there is her other wish granted; to be with Atsali in one happy family. Having them engage in normal family activity, including teen angst, and even the usual sibling rivalry just adds to the good feeling of the situation. I just find it all so heartwarming, even if it is fiction.lake_wrangler wrote:Ah. Of course, the proper name of that song is "Ob-la-di, Ob-la-da", but that's just the Beatlephile in me.

The boys that 'think they have a chance' will shower her with attention.
Considering Atsali's apparent dislike of her Siren heritage or, more likely, the 'reputation' of Sirens and treatment/views of the general paranormal society (perceived or otherwise) will probably mean Atsali will run from (emotionally and probably literally) any boy that shower her with attention.
I suspect the number of boys vying for her attention in a good way will be few.
The one's that don't or have been rebuffed may very well fall in with the 'mean girls' and mock her.

Ah, yes, the wonderful gift of having a bunch of guys who would never even give you the time of day before suddenly paying attention to you just because you have tits (tits which, by the way, you hate and are immensely embarrassed by and which you desperately wish would disappear) and the general assumption that girls with big tits want sex all the time (because guys want to have sex with them all the time, and project the wishful thinking). Of course, if she turns these shallow sorts down, they lack the ability to comprehend the real reasons she said no, and just assume that she cruelly wants to deprive them of the sex they're owed in return for being nice to her, even though she's obviously sleeping with everybody else (because she has big tits and curves, so of course she's sleeping with all the other guys) so she must be a bitch, or frigid, or a dyke/carpet muncher/muff-diver/[insert rude euphemism here]. :/DilyV wrote:I find it rather interesting...

The funny thing is when you have none, you want them, and once you get them, you don't... especially if you are too young and sprout way too much way too fast. If does make you self conscious... and yeah... other girls don't miss that all the sudden all the attention seems to be shifting to the girl with the rack instead of the 'in' clique. Most guys probably thought a rack was a country in the middle east... LOL Being stacked and pretty is almost a curse when you look at it... especially if guys want nothing to do with you, then all the sudden they're interested because you got boobs... it's obvious where their interest lies...
I just hope that Mon and Kath sit Atsali down and guide her through this...

Oh ya, there's a huge adolescent mind set of "I want it, you have it, it's mine -- and if I don't get it, it's Your fault." I'm thinking of the Porky's movie where nerd #2 (whatever his name) responded to every rejection with "Oh ya, she wants me!"
Projection. A great way to excuse your behavior -- Try it today!

Yeah, when I was young I wanted big boobs to play with as well. Thing is, when I finally got my opportunity to do so I found why the saying "more than a handful is wasted" exists. They were fun and sexy for a while, but soon lost their appeal. Large warm bags of jello (with nipples) would be the best description as I saw them. I got over that as a reason to go with a big breasted girl real quick. It was good though as it helped me get over the superficial and look for more lasting traits. Her big boobs was not a good basis for a relationship. I imagine I'm not the only one. There were a number of girls who would, literally, put that right up front and use them to get what and who they wanted. Sad really. Like many things the wanting and allure far exceeded the reality.
It's unlikely Atsali would abuse her extraordinary mammary status, but you never know. Power can be a heady thing and she will have it if she wants to use it. It can sometimes be more difficult not to use power when you have it, than it is using it wisely. Just think of all the things you could do with poiting power over others and things. Could you not use it, even for what you would consider good purposes?
