I think it's going to take a little more than "I'm sorry".

Wow. I didn't know that Tina had an info-dump button. Apparently Tina didn't, either.

This isn't the first time it's happened with Tina. It seems the more desperate the need, the harder it is for her not to start rattling off a verbal analysis leading to a conclusion. She really needs a mute button.

At least learn how not to blame the victim. Nudge was at least clever about how she talked. This was just brutal.Timotheus wrote:This isn't the first time it's happened with Tina. Hard problems need hard actions. But looking at this is seeming to say that Tina does not have total control over her empathy either. The greater the need the harder it is for her to stop a reading.

OK, this is the time for "mommy" hugs. And who do we know that can give them?

Re: Your Whole World 2013-08-29
The comment about Georgette just sucking that out of Tina is important I think. It implies the collective is reaching out to help people. She saw the pain inside Georgette and reacted to it. The result was to break through the hard outer exterior to get to the real person underneath. This is the person Monica needs to meet and help. Tina has done these types of head slaps before but never about such a brutal subject or like manner. Maybe now Georgette can start dealing with it.
Maybe she needs Monica to get closure by talking to her parents. Venting at them or asking questions. Monica can speak to the dead.

Owie. This has not been Georgette's easiest day ever. Hell of a thing, when all she consciously wanted was a nice cuppa.
It does seem likely that at some level, Georgette really needed to hear all that... to have all of those memories dragged out and then tossed into her face again... otherwise Tina wouldn't have gone into involuntary TDMI mode the way she did.
Maybe Monica's Speaker To The Dead abilities are about to come into play? Georgette's dead parents, perhaps?

Georgette's attraction to being Monica's friend may have been an instinctual one just as Phix said that the cop in Justin drew him to unseen sphinx in Shelly.

O_o
Sjeezz.. Talk about "purge-Therapy".
But, then again, I think it was needed. The Demon collective tends to sense when some brutal measures are in order, painful as they may be.
I only hope that M walks in for some busty mom-hugs. I'd hate to see Georgette hating on Tina because of this blurting.

I agree. It may seem brutal to the casual observer, but it is within the realm of possibility that Georgette did willfully pull that out. It would be unfair to Tina to assume she willfully forced that upon Georgette, and I think her reaction is genuine. But if the action was willful, was it all Georgette or is there something else within her that did this, something attracted by the trauma of the plane crash? The door to the demon realm was still open at the time of the crash, after all...Mark N wrote:Atomic wrote:At least learn how not to blame the victim. Nudge was at least clever about how she talked. EDIT: And now that I think about it, one of the collective stepped forward and said "intriguing"...was it because of the information being revealed or was this demon reacting to the presence of a kindred spirit? (clink)
Re: Your Whole World 2013-08-29
But Nudge has a LOT more experience doing this. Maybe a several thousand years worth. SO she's learned when and how to nudge. Tina is just learning.Atomic wrote:At least learn how not to blame the victim. Nudge was at least clever about how she talked. Though there is a good case the aura calls to her and she has to respond to what she sees. I think it is correct the stronger the emotional issue inth aura is the harder Tina come out on it, especially if it's a bad one. Georgette has probably been repressing a lot of this and her feelings. It is effecting her life and slowly burning her out inside. She may have become a model because that is what mon and dad wanted for her, not what she wants. The loss of her parents, the tramua of the crash, the injuries to her sister and her. All of this bubbling around underneath. The internal now has hit the point she is finally starting the realize that being a model is NOT what she wants to be. One she sees that her whole world goes off center. She's defined herself as a model for years and started taking on the persona to a great degree. It is possible she just hates herself and her life now. That is what pulled Tina I think.

I guess the next question is how is Monica going to respond to being paged by Tina to come and help, especially if this is a working day.

Damned if it hasn't been a rough couple of weeks. Lots of people winding up in tears lately.

Re: Your Whole World 2013-08-29
Yeah, I'll need to amend my reading of yesterday's "you need her".
Though for a split second I was about to conclude it referred to her sister ...
Tina's pause before declaring "Sunshine!" though ... didn't even Tina know who "she" was until then?!
... and after that triumphant realization ... a more pressing realization ... followed by declarations of sympathy and excuses ...

I still kinda lean toward it ws Tina trying to find what was left of the 12 year old inside her. But later comments make you wonder.Sidhekin wrote:Yeah, I'll need to amend my reading of yesterday's "you need her".
