I've noticed a significant decrease in traffic on a couple other forums based around webcomics that DIDN'T go on two-year hiatus...

Between the two-year hiatus and us being told up front that the focus of the comic would shift very heavily to the younger generation, Wapsi Square is effectively starting from scratch.
And we've basically had a bunch of characters thrown at us. What fragment of story we've had was swiftly resolved.
