My first wife and i used to go to a Greek restaurant that had a speciality item consisting of a flambéed cheese platter that they lit off at your table.

The ceiling was a bit low. There were little scorch marks on the ceiling by each table.

Then there's this.

I had a chemistry professor make his beginning of the year 'Chemistry can be Dangerous, so don't F**K around in the Lab, mmmkay?' speech, making his point with a bit of Thermite to melt through a block of steel. Unfortunately, he got the proportions slightly off. It went through the steel block all right. And the desk. And the floor. And the desk underneath. And the floor underneath that. And put a three foot crater in the basement before the reaction burned itself out.

The following semester, I curiously checked, and he was no longer offering a chemistry class. I guess some things CAN get your Tenure stripped...
