...but I recently finished a novella in the fanfic universe with Ms. Dinky. I will confess it's a rather dark piece compared to my usual - it does come out right in the end but there are definitely some spots in it that are not recommended for pre-bedtime reading if you are of a sensitive disposition at all.
Trying to gauge reaction - is there enough interest for me to post it here?

"The Empire was founded on cups of tea, mate, and if you think I am going to war without one you are sadly mistaken."
Re: It's been a while....
Of course!
Even the "darkest" parts of other stories you've written haven't ever been what I'd call "nasty-dark". Touching on difficult situations and emotions is often a touchy thing to do, but as long as it's emotionally honest material I think I'd be glad to read it.
Paul's work has had its dark and painful moments (I'm thinking of "Jin in the pit" and "Brandi's big reveal about the orphanage"). Didn't stop us from reading.

I'd be interested . . .
And I doubt it's any darker than some of the things I come up with.
