Not posting this as a political poke, but an interesting philosophical take on two competing world outlooks.

This Plague Psychodrama is Peak Postmodernism. Its Retreat Will Lead to Remodern Renewal.

TL;DR: "The face mask is the 2020 version of the pussy hat, and makes just about as much sense."

'Too Long, Haven't Finished Reading Yet', still I don't always agree with Post-Modern Art, and I kind of am getting the gist of the author...

I'm not sure it's best expressed so virilantly though.

The whole Remodern site is a counter to the crap art so common in Modernism and especially Postmodernism. They're calling for a return to the classical style of art as a loving, insightful reflection of life, etc. Consequently, their frustration with adulation of a $$$ painting in orange and blue of a dog squatting on a lawn (really!) is not delivered with a spoon full of sugar.

The best comment on this (PM ism) in the world of science and public affairs is that adding politics to anything is like adding dog dirt to ice cream. You don't get an exciting new taste sensation, you get adulterated ice cream.

Mark Steyn, IIRC.

A guy taped a banana to a wall in a museum, and was paid six figures for that.

Don't even get me started on those paintings where someone just flings paint at a canvas, or where they paint a canvas one solid color and then put a frame on it.

Yes, that - exactly!
