it could have been worse. They could have been sorted by the colors of the covers.

A really artistic cleaning contractor wouldn't just have color-sorted them in a simple way (e.g. as a rainbow). Instead, each bookshelf would be sorted so that, from a distance, each bookshelf would look as if it had a low-resolution photo composed of rectangular colored pixels...

... and they would all portray Grumpy Cat.
