Don't nudge too hard, Nudge. Those things in panel 3 look ready to burst free.

I can hear the penny getting ready to drop.

Monica knows something suspicious is up - her expression makes that fairly clear.

After all... a beer and a cannoli? I can understand having a yen for one or the other... but somehow, mentioning the two in the same breath-of-yearning seems more than a trifle strange. Maybe it's just me, but the two sets of flavors don't seem to go together all that well... beer seems better suited for drinking with something savory, rather than with something as sweet as a cannoli.

... unless Nudge is pregnant, and this is the paranormal version of a craving for pickles and ice cream?

Nudge gently applies a clue-by-four.

Take the beer, leave the cannoli. . .

Just Nudge doing what she does best, nudge, nudge. . .

We might give this a bit more thought. Nudge is rarely that obvious when nudging. Either very direct or very subtle. This is easy to spot manipulation. Is it really aimed at Monica, or just to get Monica in motion towards the real ones in need of help?

I am guessing that this is directly aimed at Monica between her eyes. I would hazard a guess that the unfinished business that Monica has is chaffing at Nudge and her need to phix things.

As subtle as a tube sock full of marbles, Nudge. LOL
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

Nudge does seem to have ground some gears when shifting her psychology into Reverse.

Perhaps I'm mistaken...

You can't get cannolis with a savory filling?

Must Wiki....

Hmm. Apparently desert fillings only, ranging from mild soft cheeses to custards, fruits, and spices....

Dammit! Hungry again.....

Don't doubt what you haven't experienced. It took quite a bit of railing from a friend from Boston to try beer and chocolate cake together. It works quite well...

EDIT: Don't doubt EVERYTHING...

Hey!

Maybe Nudge means cannellini - beans. Beer and beans - a way to tell your real friends from those who just like your company.....

Seems to me Monica is already well aware of her Acceptance Stage. Nudge just wants Phix and M to hang with her in a neutral space to keep an eye on her while she tries ridiculous combinations of food that no average mortal would try.

And after getting the band back together, she can walk that outfit down to Nicollet Mall and toss a tam o'shanter into the air.
