We have a road nearby that according to legend the number of bridges going one way is different than coming back down the road. Amazing how such crap is perpetuated.

Hey - US 29 between Greenville and Spartanburg SC is one mile longer one way than the other...
{Well, it may not still be, but it actually was when i was a kid, and still was last i knew for sure...}

Atsali's comments are... confusing. But what sticks out is, apparently nobody in a position of authority is telling these kids "Heck no you can't investigate your clubroom. You'll wind up talking to Pennywise."
We'll see what happens.

So, in the Wapsi world, the universe seems to be somehow encoded in the Akashic records. Presumably, teleportation involves people intentionally re-writing the code so that an object goes from being described as existing in one position to being described as existing in a new location. Perhaps people just believing that reality is a certain way leaves a mark on the Akashic records, and can eventually cause the believed reality to actually become encoded itself.
