Yeah, I suppose a 5" (or 6") tarantula bouncing off of your face would be a bit traumatic.

Worse yet, though... she was 6 when it happened. Suppose there's a hidden rule that the tarantula involved must be 1" long for each year of your life?

I looked up the species... wow... I can see why Shelly was so freaked... When I was stationed at Fort Huachuca, there were Tarantulas all over the place...
