Maybe I am reading too much into this, but I get the feeling Nadette isn't going to Dragon's Wall, herself. Since her family is rich it wouldn't seem to be financial problems, so perhaps DW is like Hogwarts; you only go by invitation.

On the other hand, if going to college meant separation from Nadette, you'd think Atsali's anxiety level would be much higher...

That might actually be the problem, and why she's as upset as she is . . .

That indicates that the linguistic virus has spread into your nervous system, far enough to start sedating the automatic reactions.

The first symptoms will likely be an increased awareness of double meanings, inverted meanings, and rhyming slang, accompanied by a tendency to chuckle. An obvious tendency to pun (even when you don't intend it) will probably show up by Easter.

I'd never seen that movie, and I never read the book, so I don't know the context, but of you look at the plate at the bottom left...
