Undead Monkey.

Sorry. Blame Jack.
Undead monkeys tend to roll down hill. End up in your back yard, or rolling all the way into your kitchen. Terrible inconvenience.

Always stick something below, or in front of the monkey to block its motion, at the time you make it un-dead.

Chock the monkey.

Chock the monkey tonight! Then you'll be ready for a night in Bangkok.

"Miss Yakimoto! You're beautiful!"

Bangkok is fine, as long as you don't greet Bjork when she visits.

As long as we are diverting from Peter Gabriel and going places, how about-

One night in Paris
Will wipe the smile off your pretty face...

So Murphy likes it in fours apparently.

My brother.
My Uncle.
My son's Godfather.
And now my cousin who was exactly to the minute seven months older than I.

My late grandfather called him "Number one Grandson" and me "Number one Granddaughter", with zero ill-intent, despite how many folks thinking he was making light of my being half Asian. He'd been doing it for months before I was born.

My Uncle lost his wife in 2013 to an aortic aneurysm. She didn't survive the surgery. Now his only child. I'm heartbroken.

My son knew him, met him only briefly, and usually at funerals.
Got to play on his very expensive drumkit. When I freaked out about the chance of it getting damaged, my cousin said that it's worth it to see how excited he was sitting behind this HUGE drumkit making music, and it could inspire him to play one. He was right. Now my child plays the violin.

Oh, jeez. :o :(

Folks, we need to figure out some mojo to dispel whatever sort of dark cloud is hovering around DinkyInky and her family.

I'd suggest the classic "bell, book, and candle" ritual for dispensing evil... but, knowing this crowd, we'd end up delivering Big Ben, the entire Library of Congress, and a fully-lit Atlas II booster. ;)

Already tried that as a quickie - used a Minuteman instead of the Atlas II.

If I ever find that git he will regret the day he left the Emerald Aisle - Chicago.

I... can relate to a small extent. Not much. There was a period in my family's recent history where I was attending a funeral seemingly every month. It's extremely depressing, and it happened during some of my rather formative years. I ended up associating family gatherings with death so much that whenever some relative ever called, I'd ask mom or dad "ok, who died this time?"

I suppose in a backhanded sort of good way, I didn't really know most of the people who died. And the ones I did know, I didn't particularly like, let alone love. One or two of them I felt sad, the rest were more along the lines of being there to support the ones who were actually sad. And, not a single one went young - everyone pretty much agreed it was their time.

So... I cannot imagine how hard this is hitting you Dinky but I'm here, I've got internet hugs, and I'm always ready to do whatever I can to help, including simply listen and be around.

I can relate; over a relatively short period I lost a Marriage, Moved 'back home', lost a Sister, and one after the other- both Parents.

Following the passing of my Mother, the school she had gone back into academia for granted her a PhD posthumously.

We found out afterwards Mom had gotten one of those loans she shouldn't have qualified for, but I think it was because they plotted and schemed for the property.

("We're not going to give you the amount you asked for because the property isn't 'modern' enough, so here is a much bigger loan so you can replace all the windows, the roof, and all the internal wiring...").

If I continued to sit at the bottom of the hill that Life had tossed me down, I'd be under all the rubble.

There are at least two choices; start climbing back up that hill, or, jump in the stream at my feet and swim to another opportunity.

Kind of did both.

Buck up young lass, you're made of sturdy stuff.

Well, an ICBM properly applied CAN dispose of certain kinds of evil...

I'm not, not really.
I don't have a choice but to put on a happy face for my son, and fall apart when he's not around.
All of my friends and family are back home or equally as far away as that, so I've not got the close-knit support group that I used to. The only friends we've made since moving here just moved away, and that adds to it a bit.

I'd rather stay offline some days than bring folks down with my issues, plus I'd also hate being irrational to anyone even if they deserve it, because it's not me. I prefer folks to see my goofy side than the side overwhelmed by grief.

What he said. You're more family to me than my actual family. I'm here, we are all here, for you. Ok? *hugs*
